Is it weird an old guy from 40-55 called me beautiful?

So I work at this grocery store and a customer that was around his late 40s just looked at me and said (you're beautiful) and then he just smiled. IS that weird? by the way I am 17 years old lol

It's not really weird and it appears harmless. I think some older people just stop caring about social awkwardness and say nice things when they think nice things.
Then there are also creepy pedo's out there but as long as it stays at just a comment, it's harmless either way and I'd take it as a polite compliment.
