What's the difference between loving a person and really caring for a person?

Caring for someone is like a best friend or just a friend. You can talk to them and help them out but there's always that little wall that you know that you can't/shouldn't smash down with them. There's a small distance that neither of you will cross. You'll do your best to be there but there are times when you just can't/won't. There other people that can deal with their problems. Caring is like taking care of a pet. You love it a lot but there's that part that you will never understand certain things about it.

Loving someone (Now I'm a young person so don't fully go by my response to this), is a step over caring about them. You'll help them through the rough times even if they don't want the help. You can't help but want to see them sad just to go over and simply make them happy with just a "hello". You'll drop everything (sometimes litterally) just for them. If your in the middle of hanging out with a friend and they want to hangout, your already in the car driving over there. Those walls around them, you would take a sledge hammer if needed and tear it down. You care about them so much that you'd do anything to see them happy, even if it means leaving them in someone else's arms at night. Loving someone is seeing them in their worst and still see the beauty in them. Doing everything just to be with them.

CARING for a person means that you are concerned for their well being. You want the best for them. When you assist them with anything, your intentions are primarily genuine. The same generosity that can be bestowed upon a grandparent, a sibling, or an elderly person.

LOVING a person is way more intense! You're concerned for their well being, want the best for them, and willing to assist them with anything to a degree of magnitude that is explosive. You will do almost anything for that person because now you're emotions have taken over. You get lukewarm feelings or butterflies in your stomach when you see this person. You're smiling and your eyes are dancing. When this person is across the room, you're admiring them from a distance, and thinking how lucky you are to LOVE and HAVE this person.

I thought caring and loving someone meant the same thing until recently I ask my friend if he loves me he said no but said that he care about me. I'm confused now

Well, caring for someone means that you're there for them when they need help. It means that you're willing to talk them out of doing something that you know would hurt them, it means giving them a ride into town when they're car breaks down, it means a million things that could never be written here.

Now, LOVING someone is so much more than that. When you care for someone you'd help them, but you'd have limits on what you're willing to do. If you were willing to run a million miles just to get a car to pick them up, that's love. It could be an exaggeration--maybe, but it's true. If you love someone, you're willing to do anything to help them.

Being in love is a profound feeling for someone. This is a feeling that you cannot forget. If you love someone, you want to be with them and you want to be an important part of their lives. If you love someone especially of the opposite sex, you will feel a different emotion towards them. Sometimes the feeling is very intense that you cannot control. Love is usually involuntary. It is not something that an individual forces, but something that happens naturally. However it is important to remember that loving someone also denotes that you care for them, but if you care for someone it does not mean that you love them.
