Does a man get nervous when he knows the girl likes him but he doesn't like her?

Why do a guy would be nervous around a girl, start to fidget his hand, when he's not doing to same with other girl? What about a man that knows a girl likes him without she told it to him, does he get nervous? This same guy (doing all this stuff written above, fidgeting etc..) turns always his body into my direction even iif he's far away , makes some eyes contact, glances at me but never start talking to me and when I come to talk to him he starts fidgeting his right hand or playing with objects in rapid moves. When we're close to each other is not facing me but he's standing next to me. When I touched him on his shoulder, first he didn't make a step back but then he started to get REALLY nervous, playing with chair, fidgeting his feet and hands, moving a lot. What does that mean? Does he like me but is too shy? Or does he try to hide something? Or does he just not like me?

I like him so that's why I asked

Like you? Like you? He likes you a lot but is terrified! (yeah, women can be daunting). Guys can be shy and nervous around a woman, especially if she's really attractive in his eyes. Be friendly and approachable, non-threatening and patient. But sometimes you have to get direct and hit us upside the head (figuratively) and just tell us! We can be that dense.

It sounds to me that he likes you but does not know what to do when your around. Try asking him out on a date, you will have to make the first move with him. Maybe he has never had a girlfriend and is scared. Either way I think he likes you.

Agree with Bill below. He'd have no reason to be nervous or such if he didn't like you... Nor would he stay near you. Obviously he feels something.

Do you flirt with him? Have you told him you would like to get to know him better?

So I'm not flirting with him, I only stare or glance at him.. he does the same. Don't know what it means or if he wants me to stop doing it

Since he is your teacher you should wait until you graduate. If not he could loose his job because your a student. Good luck.

it can just be a little awkward at first. usually not such a big deal that one gets REALLY nervous about it.
