Why do guys like to compare their hands to a girl's?

Nearly every guy that I have become somewhat close to has at one point compared hand sizes with me. Why do they do this?

I thought more girls did this... at least in my experience I've had more girls compare and mention the size difference in our hands.

I'm guessing the guys that do it like to feel bigger and the girls who do it like feeling petite and small compared to the guy.

Why have I done it? Hmmm... well I have done it to a few girls and honestly the answer is: I am fascinated by how petite and small their hands are compared to mine. I guess it's just another way of looking at beauty.
