Do guys not like serious girls?

I'm pretty studious and focused, and I think a lot of guys are turned off by it. It's not that I think I'm too good to talk to other people...I'm kind of introverted and awkward around guys. I don't want to give people the impression that I don't have time for them, what should I do?

im just like you! have the same problem.There's various reasons depending on the guy. Some guys might find it intimidating, some might find you boring, some might feel like theyre not good enough for you or something, etc.

what I like to do is talk about stuff other than school like something funny or plans about my weekend, it tells the guy that 'hey I have a life too, I can be a bit adventurous' Crack a funny joke to get the conversation going, smile, and show your happiness to lighten the mood when you see the guy you like. Just be yourself, I'm sure it will come naturally.

I also think asking them a question is a great conversation starter, just be like hey do you know where ___room is, or do you know when were off from school I can't wait to get out of here and go to the beach with my buddies ;]

Serious is fine, studious is great. However, the reason why it's a turn off is because when you're always studying, you don't have time for anything else, therefore, all you can talk about is school and that's just boring.

As a guy who take education and career pretty seriously, frankly speaking we (me and friends) find them boring. Nowadays everyone is so focused on career, money, success.. it's not that serious people (especially as a girlfriend material) are turn off, it's that the cheerful and energetic ones shine so bright in comparison. During our time off from study/work we want to be able to loosen up and relax with friends and family. As one of my friend puts it bluntly, life is too short to spend your days with someone so serious. It is important to be serious about career and education but perky personalities go a long way in interpersonal relationships :)

well if you get talked to a lot by a lot of guys just talk to the one ur interested in. once you do that just make sure you text him and let him kno wen ur schedule is free to meet up and relax. the key is to let the guy know u're a human being and ur not a machine that only stops to get ur oil changed. just please don't be one of those people that gives the guy a chance and tells him you like him then ends up being to busy to text back or leave a voicemail. if you like someone there is ALWAYS a way to make time to let them know you care. that's all we really want

Thanks for the advice! It's true, a lot of guys think I'm practically a robot, and I guess that's not really healthy. I actually don't talk to guys much...I think I should socialize a little more so when I talk to him (the guy) I don't feel so out of place. What do you think?

No, I like girls who are intellectually focused. Be who you are, don't change yourself, and in time you'll find the right guy for you. There are guys who will like you just the way you are, but if you try to change yourself to make other people happy you'll only make you and the guy miserable.
