He texts me first, but doesn't keep the convo going. I don't get him.

my cousin's friend added me on Facebook a couple days ago and I recognized him because I always seen him at parties and thought he was hot :) so I started talking to him on FB chat and he ended up giving me his number at the end of the convo and told me to text him. he texts me first a lot but his responses are always "Ha ha yeah I know" or "ha ha yeah I hate that" things that don't keep the convo going. my cousin says he is definitely not the player type.

I DON'T GET HIM. does he like me? or is he just one of those guys that need girls to carry on a conversation?

If his responses don't allow for a response on your end, that's probably your fault.

Do your conversations go something like this?

You: Dude I hate school.

Him: Haha yeah I know.

Try asking open-ended questions that require a response, not just a yes/no/haha...

Ask him if he's seen the latest movie and ask him what he thought of it, same for music ask about current songs out and what other artists he likes. Ask him what he does for fun, how school is going, if he plays sports and which ones, then if he still answers you with short, one-sided responses he's either retarded or doesn't care at all.

A lot of guy friends I text say 'haha' before and after a real sentence, it's not necessarily an indication he likes you based solely off of your texts.

Girls are naturally better at communicating, so yes, give him a little push.

I think it's too early to tell if he likes you, but he's definitely interested. If a guy gives you his number, that means he wants to talk to you. Some guys aren't big at texting...maybe you should ask him to hang out casually so you can get to know each other in person a little better? Guys and Girls alike aren't always flattering via text.

Some people aren't that big on text conversations, I know I'm not and I know guys that aren't. He is texting you first so that's a good sign.
