Why does my teacher blush around me?

I'm an 18 year old female student and my male teacher is in his 40s. We work together a lot and recently I've noticed that whenever we are in a room alone together he blushes bright red. This happens when he speaks to me or when he's staring at me for a while he will blush bright red. I don't see this happening with any other of his work colleagues either

In groups, he is always confident and is always making jokes and he never blushes. But when we are alone together he will blush. Sometimes it will calm down and he will stop blushing but other times he will be noticeably blushing

Maybe he is just a little shy when being one on one with a female. His confidence in groups is not always indicative of his general confidence levels. You say that he is always making jokes and that can sometimes be a sign of compensating for nerves. Sometimes people play the clown a little so you can't see through to their insecurities. When he is one on one he might feel more exposed.

On the other hand, he might be attracted to you and he might find that awkward. What you need to remember, obviously, is that he can't DO anything about any attraction to you if he likes having a career as a teacher. If he DID do anything then he could kiss his career goodbye. It is extremely unethical for teachers to get involved with students, even if the student is over 18.
