If a guy said that I can come over anytime, does he really mean that?

I have a crush on this guy. It may or may not be neutral; I get this vibe of uncertainty and he might like me a little bit. Anyways, he said that I have the key to his place, I can come over any time. That was a week ago.

I'm very shy and uncertain about just showing up. I've texted him yesterday, asking if it was okay. Got no reply as of yet. I'm not sure if I should just show up or not go... I've been trying to get him alone for a while now but he's always busy. I'm afraid he is A) busy today and won't be home, B) has his phone off/away and if I show up, it will be creepy and awkward, C) he's not interested and this is still creepy and awkward. He seems to go MIA on the weekends sometimes. I know he was schedualed to get back from a business trip yesterday. I was planning to go by after work with the disguise of, "I'm seeing if staying at your place on such and such days will help me with school". (College student)
