The darling comment might mean something or it might just be a way to pass time. As a former young male cashier (a long long time ago), I can tell you, the life of a cashier can get pretty boring. So even the most shallow interactions can speed up the day. When I really liked one of my customers, I'd usually give her extra good service or tease her about something or look deeply in her eyes as I handed back her change.
By the way, it usually goes the other way around. Usually, older ladies call the young male cashier "honey" or "darling" or "sweetie".

For fun I use all sorts of "names". It is only to see if I can get a reaction out of people tho. Sparky, darling, sport, buck-a-roo, buddy, pal, etc.
it's often a different reason for each person as to why they might call you one thing over another. Could be a term of endearment, or just a term. Best not to read into it too much unless the body language say something particular.
It doesn't mean anything. He just called you darling in replacement for your name which most likely he doesn't know so he opted to use that word. 🙂 Part of their work is to be outgoing & sociable that's why they're like that 😉
It means nothing, I guess. Maybe he has the habit of calling women and girls "darling".
It's just how he is.
It means they are being friendly.
And I know that because I use to be a cashier xD.

Nothing, it just means that he just talk to people certain way. I call people sweety all the time or honey but I'm just saying that but because I naturally say it.
No means nothing. And i have noticed most of the time clearly gay ones call you darlig honey sweety etc. love those guys ❤
In the UK most cashiers call you "darling" or "love".
Tbh... when I think a girl is cute I tend to call her either "Sweetheart" or "darling" maybe I'm old school, but sometimes it works sometimes it's received with bitterness 😂
I have to admit, when I was sleeping around a lot, I called all of my lovers "darling" to prevent calling her by the wrong name.
i don't think much of it lol. I just they are trying to be respectful
That sounds cute to me. He doesn't know your name and he's being sweet.
A phrase from a old style of slang for ma'am or miss. That dates back to the mobster times.
It might be part of his speech when talking to young women.
Nope. Call all kinds of girls darling, dear, and hon regardless of looks or age.
Probably not. Even if it did, you're probably never gonna see him again so
I don't think so, they have names for us, I've been called sweetheart before but that didn't mean he wanted me to go out with him😂
Depends on how he talks lmao, you'll never interact with him again
probably thinks "oh isn't she a pretty little thing!" but thats all
if you are not the only one he calls like that , it is normal but if he calls you with that name only you then it is weird
No, that doesn't mean anything
