Why is this guy suddenly being so nice?

so, I'm a freshman. and there's sophomore at my school. I'm pretty sure he's known who I am most of the year since of all the stares he (and some of his friends) have given me. we've said a few things to each other, but we've never had a real convo.

but today, he suddenly became friendly towards me. I mean, every time I saw him today, he'd be like "hey, rebekah!" with a big smile across his face. me being neurotic, I was almost afraid that he was perhaps making fun of me since he's like best friends with my ex crush and I thought maybe he found out. but I dunno.

so I'm just curious as to why he suddenly decided to do that. it just seems weird to me

oh and btw, he has a girlfriend. so, we can rule the possible "liking" thing out if that's what you're thinking

1st: Always trust your instincts, if something doesn't feel right, it usually is.

2nd: have you ever seen that movie "Cruel intentions" ? if not, watch I or goole it...it might help...or not.

3rd: you could just be over thinking this. maybe he just wants to be friends.

4th: Some times...and I know you might find this hard to believe, but some times upper class-men view freshmen as "easy " and they prey on them thinking that they maybe willing to do stuff...stuff he might not be getting from his girl friend if you know what I'm saying. trust me I played football in high school and college and I've seen many freshmen fall victim to upper class-men.

5th: the only way to know for sure is to ask him...it's the most direct way but it works.

Well, lol, he could be doing that because he herd about the ex-crush thing, but then he could just suddenly have gotten interested in you. Even if he has a girl friend. I know some guys who take interest in other girls, even if they do have a gf. Or maybe it could be possible, taking that his best friend was your ex-crush, maybe that ex-crush likes you now? And this guy is paying more attention because he knows about it. Idk, could be possible? haha.

But it's kind of hard to tell. Guy are so confusing sometimes. :(
