When a guy stares at you, how can you tell whether it's because he actually likes you, or because he's thinking of you only in sexual terms? One of my guy friends gives me really long, intense stares and holds long eye contact with me, and I'm not sure how to interpret it. We did date briefly in the past, and while it didn't work out, we still hang out and he sometimes flirts with me.
The best way to describe the look he gives me is blank, prolonged, and intense - no smile (even when I smile at him to make it less awkward), and I almost always look away first (although sometimes he does). He does this when we randomly bump into each other in the hallway, and when we talk as well (although he otherwise behaves pretty normally in conversation). He used to give me this exact same look when he first liked me. He's bad at expressing his feelings, so I don't know if this means he still likes me or whether he just wants sex (in which case I would want to stay away from him). What do you think?
