Yess I know the difference! Staring is for a long period of time and very creepy. Just glancing is noticing that person is there but only a quick look at them

A good test if your unsure is to try it with a big strange dog. If it rips your face off then your probably staring.

yes the stare a constant unwavering, stare has no smile or anything no facial movements.

a glance is a look then looks away sometimes looking back maybe a smile

Someone stares gives a long look at someone. Someone who glances, takes a look, then looks away. Then glances again.

Could it be that staring is continuing to look at someone after you've caught their eye once or twice and not got a positive response? Before that, it's just looking.
