Why would a talkative guy be quiet around me?

This guy kept looking at me when he saw me for the first time. He even rush to help me when I slipped down. But we did not talk no smile nothing only stares. The second time I saw him we had eye contact he looked away rapidly. I was around, a girl approached him to talk, he told her.. later you talk to me.. he always look at me with no expression and no smile. Infact he isn't a shy guy from what my friends told me.. What is he about?

Maybe he has a slight crush on you and his words get jumbled up when you're around so he avoids engaging in conversation.
