Out of the blue text messages?

Me and this boys relationship started out in an unordinary way. We were made costars in a play where we had to kiss and eventually I started developing feelings for him. Come to find out he had feelings for me too, but he said that he wasn't ready for a relationship because he had just broken up with his girlfriend a little while before we began rehearsing. Anyways, out of the blue, he texts me saying that he heard that I was talking crap behind his back... but that he was fine and just wanted to leave it like that. I, of course, insisted that I have no idea what he was talking about (seriously, I like the boy, why would I ever talk bad about him?) He kept trying to end the messages to me with "goodnight" but kept responding to my messages anyways. He wouldn't tell me who said things or what these people said, and I have no idea what to think of this. Help?

I think you should comfort him. He obviously has feeling for you if he brought it up in the first place. Talk to him. He probably thinks you said bad things because he wouldn't date you but he misses the chance to date you as well! Go after him! Hope it ends well!

looks like you are not the only one who likes him. Someone else is also jealous and trying to create a space between you two.

just maintain the truth and try and find out who spread the rumor. if he likes you he'll get over it.
