Guy's Behavior

How do you know when a guy acts like he likes you, but never talks to you?

Ok so, here is this guy that I have a huge crush that I dont want to like because I think he doesn't like me back. But, he stares at me and I think he tries to get close to me but he never talked to me and once I heard him saying to his -I think- his best friend "give this book to her" (I heard my name) while we were in the library doing research for our Social Studies project. And he comes behind me to talk to his friend, but this friend is I think really annoying him and his stares are so mysterious and hot and I just dont know if they are the 'I like you' stares, or the 'I know you like me stares.' Because I stare at him A LOT but this last month I tried to stop myself because as I said before, I know he doesn't like me so ya! But if you are wondering if he is shy or not, then no I dont think so because in class, he sometimes raises his hand in class and is probably one of the favorite kids in the school and sometimes in 7th hour, he gets pretty hyper and starts to jump around and stuff. Oh, and he also talks to girls like its really easy! lastly, once I was asking my teacher for a computer cuz the one I was using wasn't working (he was behind me) soo, he kind of helped me out but his voice was low like the 'girl that I dont talk to, I talk to right now' voice. if all of that makes sense, can you guys help me out here cuz I dont know if he likes me or not!!
