As a guy why would you just stare into a women's eyes without blinking or making any other facial reactions after asking her some questions?

This was one of our first actual conversations. He asked me a few questions to keep the convo going but gave me really intense eye contact when he was listening. It intimidated me a bit. As a guy why would you do This?

Personally, as the weird sort of person I am, I tend to stare when I am trying to assess a person. Kinda like L from deathnote.

Some people just don't like showing any emotions I can be like that to people I don't know well.
