What does it mean when a guy places his hand on a girl's lower back?

Is it considered as affection or attraction? So yesterday a guy at my boxing class told me to get in front of him for the picture because I'm pretty short. He ushered me in front of him by putting his hand on my lower back, I thought it was sort of strange since I didn't think it was necessary of him to do so I was just moving up a few steps and no one was in my way. Normally when we take a picture he's always on the other side of the picture and opposite side where I always stand. Maybe he was just near me because some of the other guys in the class happened to be around me? He's pretty handsome, and I'm kind of shy and sort of awkward. I'd say I'm cute I've been told I have some "innocent" feminine features even though I have a short pixie cut. We hardly get to talk since we're all focussing on practicing. But he manages to say hi to me everyday, but then it's even weird and funny how he said "hi!" to me in his deep voice as he raises his hand. It's sort of strange since he doesn't greet other people in a weird and slightly awkward way like how he does to me.

It depends, if he had his hand on your lower back to take the pic, then there could be a chance that he's into you. Attraction.
If someone's guiding you, like to help you not fall or because you're considered"fragile" it could be considered affection because they care for you. In your case, he seems to at least care that you exist and you're alright so I guess that means something.
Of course affection and attraction coexist so it could be both.

Ok thanks :) and yeah I think he does sort of like me. Today at practice he actually attempted to talk to me about something instead of just saying hi lol every now and then I catch him looking at me and I sort of feel like he's watching me from my peripheral vision. I sometimes glance at him through the mirrors since there so many surrounding the gym lol

Lol don't tell me what to do with my hair. A woman's hair does not reflect her "sensuality". I get it that it's a personal preference for guys to go for the long hair but I chose this cut because I like the style and that's more important than what most guys would like.
