Who gets to enjoy more double standards? Men or Women?

Lets go ahead and get it all out. What are the unfair double standards in the sexes:

For women:

-Guys get more popular with the more girls they sleep w/. Reverse is true for women.

-Guys can be unattractive, but can still get sex if they are confident. An unattractive women is in for trouble no matter what her personality is

-Women lose sexual attractiveness as they age. Many men actually get BETTER looking as they get older

For men:

-In dating Men are expected to pay for EVERYTHING with the possibility of not getting anything in return

-Men take all the romantic risks in most relationships. I.e. approaching the girl, asking for a number, getting a date, making the first move

-Men are more heavily reprimanded from friends, colleagues, police and bosses for bad behavior. A woman (especially an attractive one) often gets away with murder if she is misbehaving.

-A women can broadcast her emotions to the world and it's fine. A man does this and he is labeled weak

-Men know exactly what they want and actually SAY IT. Women on the other hand confuse the world by saying one thing and wanting another.

-Men die younger because they have more stress

-Men pay higher car insurance premiums than women (this is my personal favorite). But women pay the same amount for health insurance although they go to the doctor 6 TIMES AS OFTEN

-Men are often more ridiculed in the media and news. Classic example: the Simpsons. Homer Simpson = complete moron Bart Simpson = delinquent. Marge Simpson = responsible Lisa Simpson = Smart/Over Achiever

-A women can physically assault a man and it's fine. If a man even pushes a girl (in self defense) HE LOOKS BAD

-In custody battles the courts usually favor the mothers in child custody battles

a very frustrated, lonely dude. I feel like the only way to beat out the double standards is to be ruthless asshole and take advantage of the few advantages I get. How do you SUCCESSFUL guys deal with this? How can you stay happy in a very unfair world

? Complaining helps me ventilate a bit, but lets face it. The world is unfair and it's not going to change just for me. What can I do to be in the drivers seat in my romance and sex life? Work on being a jerk?

There are still a few other double standards that men enjoy that I did not list here. Women have to go through PMS/Child Baring (which is GOT to be painful). It's been that way for all of time though.

what has been pushed in our society. Whenever I hear "discrimination against women" in the media/publications I get very angry. Cause you rarely if ever hear about "discrimination against men".

Both men and women suffer due to gender - I don't think it's fair to try can compare the two. There are different expectations for either group - and individuals on both sides tend to fail miserably.

I think it's a mistake to pit one against the other because it's a matter of individual perspective when it comes to suffering. Just because you could live someone's life better than they can doesn't reduce the amount of pain they feel.

I understand your frustration, but your venting does nothing more than alienate you more. Stop looking at generalizations and start looking at individuals. I think when you apply a stereotype it trivializes the unique experiences of an individual. We are not on a level playing field in life and to think we are does you a great disservice.

If you want sympathy for your own personal plight, try to gain perspective on others one on one instead of in a group. I don't know what it's like to be a man or even another woman, I just know what it's like to be me. And I view others the same way.

Life isn't easy for anyone - no matter how it looks. All you can see is what is on the surface. Withhold judgment until you know the underlying issues.

A little empathy and tolerance goes a long way.

How about the fact that women make 80 cents to every dollar a man makes in the exact same job? Or that a female college graduate will often get paid the same or slightly less as a male high school graduate? The work force is completely unfair to women. I don't want to seem like a feminazi ranting about the glass ceiling, but it's complete and utter crap.

To a certain extent that's true. But for a long time feminists crunched numbers to OVER exaggerate the differences in mens/womens salaries. There was additional evidence (that was conveniently buried) that many women purposely took lesser roles in careers so they devote more time to raising a family.

With that said, I still think there is some discrimination against women to a certain extent. Women business leaders will not be taken as seriously as men. I think it might be a while

While until we have a female president. I would be surprised to see it my lifetime. I think the biggest issue is men from other countries (especially islamic countries) would not take her seriously. However the average person YOU ARE protected against sexual discrimination. You could file a lawsuit if it came down to it. I don't have this protection. In fact I have absolutely NO protection as all being a young, white male. But that's another complaint.

I try not to take advantage of these doube standards, but a lot of girls play them like the violin. Just for example, girls can pretty much get away with hazing guys at work; at the same time, they can hurt anyone they don't like just by accusing them of harassing them. Guys are guilty until proven innocent, and girls know it.

THANK YOU for being honest about that. I feel a little better that at least some women are decent out there. A woman's word ALWAYS outweighs a mans word when it comes to accusations. It's bullsh*t. I appreciate you not taking advantage of it.

All a guy has to do to look "good" is shower, shave, and wear a polo. A girl has to do her hair, shave practically her entire body, wear lotion and perfume, and makeup and match 10 parts of an outfit together.

Well that's mother nature. If you want to go that route we can talk about sex. The clitoris has over 8000 nerve ending only for pleasure. The tip of the penis has around 4000. A woman can orgasm multiple times...both vaginally and orally. A man can only orgasm one way and it takes us TIME to recover.

Well that's not completely true. I don't have to wear a bunch of cosmetics and match outfits, but my hair defies me at every chance. It never looks the same two days in a row no matter how much I try. Also, those aren't really even double standards aside from shaving the entire body (and wearing lotion is basic skin care, not much of a laborious task), just ridiculous fashion rules girls ridicule each other for not following. I couldn't care less if your shoes, belt, and eyes match.

Yeah there are a few other double standards men get to enjoy I forgot to list (for ex. we are ready for sex anytime/anywhere).

I'm sorta glad women actually recognize this. I just wish society would punish women who take advantage of this. However that will NOT change. I need to change my attitude...I really do. Its hard though. I am so angry and frustrated being a good guy that incurs the "penis penalty".
