Hmm... This is interesting and their are a few possibilities for this behavior.
1 you might of had a mosquito on you (that would explain the slapping)
2 He could take sports really serious and he's worked out how to signal his teammates, but obviously he hasn't told any of his teammates about this
3 as for the hug maybe he lost his balance? but I'm thinking he's being creepy and you should avoid him at all cost

P. S. if he doesn't leave you alone you could always knock him on the head with a hammer
