Why does he avoid eye contact with me?

Why would a guy avoid eye contact with a girl? My guy friend who I casually hook up with the last 2 years often avoids eye contact with me. Our families are very close and we were all out the other night and him and I were sitting across from eachother and it seems like he has a hard time making eye contact with me and avoids it. Does this mean anything? Does he dislike me so much that he doesn't want to look at me?

Well I'd need more details to tell you. Does he know you're fucking other people? Does he want a relationship and you said no? Is he just a timid man and doesn't wish to challenge you. In close settings direct eye contact is a show of dominance, if he isn't a strong man then he might just be submitting to you. Not enough info to tell

I'm not sleeping with other people and he knows it and he's not sleeping with anyone else either. We've never really talked about being in a relationship but I would be willing to be in one with him. Who knows why he acts this way though. Thank you for your opinion!
