Guys, what do you think of forward women?

OK, so I have the tendency to be a little forward with guys. If I see one I like I have no problem approaching them, I tease and flirt with them a fair amount and usually they ask for my number. Sometimes they text me first but I would say its just as often that I text them first. If I like them I'll wait a little bit for them to ask me out but if we're talking and they haven't asked me and we're halfway through a conversation or its been a day or two and they haven't, I'll ask them out. they usually say yes, but there's a pattern of me making the plans or being the first one to text. I personally prefer it this way because I feel in control, but it would be nice to know that they are interested too. not to mention I have a habit of attracting guys at first but then they lose interest after a couple of weeks and I'm wondering if its related to my forwardness. I always tell myself "what have you got to lose, if doesn't like you, you're not making it any worse" but what if he does like me and I'm scaring him off? If a guy liked a girl would he be stopped by this?

You're wearing the pants. Nothing wrong with that.

The only problem you're going to encounter is this... if you're wearing the pants then you're going to end up with a "feminine guy." They tend to be artists, musicians, and are non-decisive.

You're basically saying, "Hey, I'm the driver" and he's saying "great, I'm the passenger. Take me places!"

This isn't wrong, it just means you'll ALWAYS have to wear the pants. You'll have to make the dates, make the calls, etc, etc.

If that's not for you then you'll have to wait these guys out until they escalate. Or go to new places that have more masculine men. Start at Salsa Dancing lessons. Men are taught to lead in a place like that.

Artists and musicians are not indecisive. I think it's great when a woman indicates interest first, and it doesn't mean I'm looking to be someone's pawn in a relationship. Some of us are simply very polite or even shy with strangers and want confirmation before making a possible mistake.

Good point. I've painted artists with a pretty big brush. From my experience the ARTIST is directed by movement, and thought, and energy. Like music. This personality type tends to be more dramatic and feminine. Masculine types are accountants, doctors, and any authority that leads and directs.

I'm being super generic.

My concern is that if a guy can't make the first move then the odds of him being a leader are slim.

There's nothing wrong with being forward or trying to take control of the dates. The guys who do back out because of this are just simply insecure about their own manhood. Society teaches us that men have to always be the dominant one in the relationship--always making the plans and the moves. Of course, if you're always forward and in control, perhaps they'll feel a little weirded out because they feel that they're the ones that are supposed to be taking this role.

Try to share the role with them a little. If you both take initiatives and are exchanging, things will go extremely well. Guys love it when the girl gets aggressive at times!

To be honest I thought guys were put off by girls who always made the first moves...a friend of mine who is like that never gets anywhere with men. I try to balance it out...like if he asks me out the first time I'll ask him out the second time. But then I expect him to make an effort and it just seems to stop. So I don't know, maybe it depends on the guy.
