What does it mean when a guy says he “values” your friendship?

When I say I value a friendship I just mean that I don't want to lose this person and I just want to keep in touch for years. But usually this doesn't happen when it came to saying it to opposite sex Tbh. Mostly like to men.
Anyway if you heard it it means you are someone important.
It might turn out to be something else or more. Depends.
