Does alcohol affect your voice??

i asked this because some girls I have met have rough voices or slurred. these tend to be party girls, which means a lot of drinking

so do girls have natural voices like that or does alcohol affect you voice

Well alcohol is a desiccant, it replaces water in your body and dehydrates you. Anything that dehydrates you, is bad for your voice. As the mucous membrane tissues which make up your vocal mechanism are approximately 90% water. That gives you a deeper voice and a crack dry sound if you continuously drink alcohol, or a few large cups through out the day.

and then again some girls love talking like that, they say it sounds sexy? O.o

So you saying they train their voice to sound like that

Well not exactly train, but they change their voice to sound like that. for example Ke$ha the singer has a slurred singing voice like she's drunk, but she doesn't sound like that normally when she talks. no offense to any Ke$ah fans...

But remember alcohol can also change your voice, so girls aren't always changing their voices deliberately.

i think alcohol does effect your voice, when I'm drunk I sometimes slur my words, but usually its the next day where I sound like a man because its dried my throat out so much that I'm all croaky and rough sounding.
