Well I've personally never done this if someone wants to chat then I'm always up for a conversation. My best guess would be that flirting is fun and just getting your snap ID is like a personal challenge to themselves like "do I have the moves to get her id?" Once they get it they have their validation but no real intent to contact you most likely due to already having a girlfriend or too shy that they wouldn't know what to say or how to carry a conversation. Simply put they can talk the talk but not walk the walk so to speak.
