Single guy with a cat?

Do girls think guys who have a cat as a pet are weird? I'm curious because I adopted a cat shortly after my girlfriend broke up with me.

I grew up with a cat in the family. I like cats. They are intelligent, solitary and affectionate creatures. They fit inline with my independent, sometimes sensitive personality. My cat has been the greatest encouragement and companion ever since I adopted him. He's a reminder to me everyday what I strive to be- a good and caring person.

I keep the fact I have a cat low key among peers. The people who know I have a cat think I'm very strange... I'm definitely a straight guy, but can't seem to grasp this unconventional stereotype that guys who have cats are weird. Any thoughts?

This is funny. Yes, the stereo-type is that guys who own cats are gay, but I guess that's the insecure straight community ranting again. I would think it was the other way around. One time I went to a girls house who owns a cat, first time that pu$$y saw me, and I just picked it up into my arms. The girl was impressed how well I handled the pu$$y, saying that her cat just hisses and refuses to be touched by most guys she brings to her house. Yet I grew up with cats, so I have that pu$$y charm. You'd think women would know that men who were good with pu$$y...cats, would be good with actual...pu$$y, for we know how to brush, stroke, and caress the pu$$y gently so that it doesn't snap and scratch your face off, but rather pure with pleasure and contentment.

All that aside, I love pu$$y...cats, because they're obviously more observant and intelligent than dogs. How is parking at passerbys a sign of intelligence. Is this a dogs way of saying, "Get the F outta my property?" Last time that happen I hollered, "SHUT UP!" and the dog yelped back to the house, crying. Cats know not to make unnecessary enemies of people. They just watch and observe, knowing they don't own the block where humans walk. That barking behavior is stupid and does more harm than good.

Good point. Dogs are annoying. I did have one growing up and he was nothing like the typical golden retreiver. A cat's watch and observe personality coincides with my own. I'd like to think that being good with cats would make me better with women, but we'll see.

Unless your cat makes you become Jon Arbuckle before he got Liz as a girlfriend from the comic Garfield, I don't see why anyone would assume anything about you. I think if they think you're strange, they have other reasons. But if they think you're weird really just because you have a cat all by yourself, then THEY are weird.

I don't know what kind of people would think a guy having a cat makes him weird.

I love cats, they are adorable.

And I think that guys who like cats/have cats are showing a more sensitive side by doing so.

Thank you. I really love my cat. He never leaves me. Even sits on the fireplace by my computer while I'm typing this. He waits by the door when I get home from work. Last week I even walked 5 miles at night through snow and 50mph winds after my car broke down. I refused to stay at a motel because I couldn't stand thinking about him being by himself.

Sooo spoiled. And everyone in my house doesn't like my cat cause she's fat. It's so sad! She is really a fat cat, but I love her anyways haha. Always have to defend her when my family is talking sh*t haha

I don't think one cat is weird at all. If it were a dozen, that'd be a different story.

I'm allergic but cats and I don't usually get along anyway. But that's great you're bonded with yours.

Yeah, multiple cats would be kind of strange. My cat doesn't get along with others so that's not likely to happen. I adopted him because I was really lonely and wanted somebody to come home to. He's been a great encouragement.

Yeah I'd like a guy to tolerate cats but if he absolutely loves cat's then that is a huge turn on! It looks sexy when a guy holds his fat cat, esp if the cat is wimpy too!
