4.9K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I'm 5'10", and my preference tends to be towards petite women - but it's a preference, and fairly mild one at that. I've dated a girl your height and another close and even a girl who was 5'11", so obviously a tall girl is far from a dealbreaker.
Even for people with a preference, if you have a great personality and aren't insecure about such things, most guys simply aren't going to care much about how tall you are.00 Reply

+1 yYup, I'm 5'7" and, in fact, if she was confident enough to wear heels while out with me, I would show her I'm confident enough to stand next to her and be her escort, her man.
If she was not up for dating a shorter guy, that would be fine too of course, but I wouldn't get hung up on it if she's not.00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI wouldn’t date a guy that was not Christian everything else doesn’t matter I’m 5’10 you can’t help what you look like and your height really it shouldn’t matter you should be looking at the heart his her values what she stands for etc

In all honesty, probably not. I’m 5ft 5.
I’m also not into girls. That’s the main reason I wouldn’t date you, nothing to do with your height :) you’re fine :)10 Reply

+1 yI have to be honest here and tell you that I have a weird turn off for girls taller than me. Specifically for long term dating. I'm 6ft and if she is say 6'1 or 6'2 with heals I am shakey but okay. So to answer your question yes anything shorter than me is great for me.
+1 yI'm 6'3, most girls are shorter than me, however although I like shorter girls, height isn't a deal breaker for me. For example, there is this girl in my math class who's SUPER tall and I think she's got a smoking hot body.

+1 yI'm a short guy so it would be strange to get used to. More than anything I wouldn't want a girl to feel insecure about being taller than me. But sure, if I liked her and she liked me, it's not enough to spoil a genuine connection.
+1 yYea for sure. I’m 6ft so that’s a comfortable height difference for me. If she’s like 6ft or taller I don't know I’d feel weird
10 ReplyYes, I would date a girl who is 5'8". That's the same height as me.
If you are wondering if guys mind dating girls taller than them, it's individual preference I guess. I wouldn't mind, and I have also come across some guys who overlook height difference.
Ultimately, it's about how they make you feel.00 Reply
+1 yYes, I would. I'm 6'0". It's all about her personality though, no matter if she's 7'0" or 3'6". But yeah, nothing wrong with 5'8" at all. Are you feeling self-conscious about your height?
+1 yI don't think height is an issue when it comes to men, I'm 5'8" and my ex was 6'"8, and my friend is 6'2" and his missus is 5'1" and I also have a friend who is 5'8" and his missus is 6'3"
00 ReplyI would. I'm 6 foot 2 inches. Doesn't seem too too tall. Now if it was a girl taller than me, I don't know.
00 Reply6'1. The 4'11 - 5'3 range is my favorite but anything shorter than me is alright. Just dictates how ridiculous your heels can get.
+1 yYes, 6'1". I think it's mainly women who care about height, I'd even be willing to date a woman who was the same height as me.
00 ReplyI'm a 6"4 woman (yes really) and I'd definitely date anyone who is 5'8

@knightly It would be amazing although it seems that the Tall couples are few and far in between all the mixed heights to shorter couples, My fiance is shorter than me (the top of his head is more or less where my eyes are) and thankfully he loves tall people so i won a bit there but dating a same height or taller than me (by a lot) person is kinda scares me, lol
- +1 y
@knightly It scares me because i've always been the tallest in the class since kindergarten / pre school, and to meet someone taller than me not only gives me anxiety but intimidates me to an uncomfortable point, i guess i got used to being the tall one wherever i go and then to add someone taller just makes me super uncomfortable
- +1 y
@Tallcat see for me it was the opposite. I was the short one until high school. I went from being 5'2 to 6'0 my freshmen year. I still haven't fully gotten used to my size. I barely found out how to run and make long strides haha. But because of that, everyone shorter than me looks like they're 5'6 no matter what they may truly be.
- +1 y
@knightly You're one of the lucky ones then! lol, the short people are kinda fun when they look at you as if you came down from space, then it's the weird tall questions like "how tall are you?: "Do you play any sports? I think you'd do very well in Basketball, etc", in all honesty i wish i was short and grew taller, but being tall is a great responsibility and a chore at the same time, although i would have loved to be taller than i am given the chance, getting used to this lovely height will take time but you'll get used to it and it won't even phase you anymore
+1 yI'm just over 6'1. I have dated considerably shorter and even a few inches taller. As long as she and I are compatible I don't care about superficial things..
10 ReplyMaybe. I'm 5'9. I like short short girls. Around 5'4 or less. I can hug them, bury my nose in their hair and smell them. Sounds silly. But that's what I like.
+1 yYep no problem. I'm 5'11 and have dated girls up to 5'10" My ideal range is probably 5'4" to 5'8"

+1 yMight as well. Same height as me. We would have consistently placed interior furnishings in our house.

+1 yI'm 6'6". That height isn't an issue. Neither is 7'
00 ReplySure, I'm 6'4 (or 6'5, don't know the exact conversion)

+1 yi don't date girls but for guys 5'8 is fine and i'm like 5'10
00 ReplyYes I'm 6.0, but I would also date a girl that is taller by me by a lot like 6'4.
00 ReplyIf I was single I'd try dating a 7-foot tall girl if she'd have me. :-D I'm 5'7.
04 Reply- +1 y
@LuvAsh Yeah. :-D Though I like this kind of elongated look to the figure (not only, I think there is appeal both ways). I don't understand how or why the idea of the taller woman was associated with "less feminine", since there were at least canonical ideals of beauty that prevailed in Western history for taller women (7+ heads tall) in fashion.
- +1 y
It is something I am seeing a lot on this site now: girls insecure about height, when that at least used to be a canonical ideal (long legs, long arms, that sort of thing). That's not my only favored aesthetic of course, and I'm married to a woman who is 5'5. But it seems silly to me now if this is considered an unappealing trait.
Hell yes. I find short girls more appealing and cute. They deserve more attention in my opinion so yes yes yes.

Asker+1 y5’8 is about 173 cm which is pretty tall for a girl lol

I've only come across 1 girl that's taller than me all my life. Walked past me on the street and it felt really weird

+1 yMy wife would object but that would be the only reason why I wouldn't , if the girl is nice and intelligent
00 Reply Yes. Im probably that height anyway. Height only ends up being a problem when one person is way too tall for the other.
00 Reply- 1.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.
+1 yI wouldn't. I'm 5'10" so its not because she wouldn't be taller but i only am physically attracted to petite women. A girl around 5'0" is what drives me crazy!

Yeah she shouldn't be taller than me, which isn't asking much.
Don't pretend like women don't have unacceptable height and body types for men, they absolutely do. I think me asking that I don't have to date less than 1% of the female population isn't asking much.
929 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Yeah, I was just pursuing a relationship with a girl 5'9", but it didn't work out.
00 ReplyYes, height means nothing to me and to an extent neither does looks. As long as they have a nice personality then honestly I would have no problem with going out with them. I'm like barely 5'5 or 5'6

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yYes, 5'8 isn't that tall anyway, 5'10 would maybe be worth asking.
I'm 6'1 so I guess from my point of view 5'8 is just less small than aversge but still small.10 Reply
