So common that it makes me sad. I used to be proud to be tall but now it's starting to make me insecure. Most guys I know prefer short petite women and even my boyfriend has a preference for short girls. (And he's a short guy by the way so yeah) I know he loves me for me and loves me the way i am and I appreciate it but I'm also insecure cuz tall and short guys both want short girls.
The thing is just that tall girls are about as preferred on the dating spectrum as tall guys are. Therefore its quite logical that they get together. There are always exceptions though. I'm 5'10 myself and I can't say that I really struggled much when it comes to find a partner.
doesn't always happen. It is just seen as ideal and is more popular/eye catching. I see a ton of short couples and tall couples and tall girl/short guy occasionally as well. Personally i am 5'9 and have only gotten approached by men who were around 6'0-6'7 .
Tall men are perceived as super masculine. Petite women are perceived as super feminine.
It's a win win situation.

Speaking as a tall man, I can honestly say that going out with short girls is a real chore. Do you have any idea how annoying it is to have to bend over at a 90-degree angle to kiss someone? Or lift them up because they're still not tall enough on their tip-toes? I now have promised myself that I won't date anyone who is less than 5'8.
Girls like tall guys!! I'm a tall guy and would LOVE to have a tall girl!! Are you available for dating and mating? It'd be so nice to be able to kiss her face to face while I'm inside of her! My ex-fiance was from India, so she was 1' 6" shorter than me!! The one good thing about our size difference, though, was that, when we slept together on our side, the back of her entire body fit perfectly against the front of mine even when we bent our legs the same way.
Does anyone else think it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Weeb, a guy with a girlfriend, is NOT one of those “short” guys that should be complaining or is it just me that that bothers?
@disgustingweebtrash Okay, so you didn’t really complain in this one post. I stalk you on the daily tho and you complain literally all the time. And yeah, like Novi said, even he calmed down considerably after he got a girlfriend, and he was probably even worse than you were before. Stop disrespecting me or I will backhand you and never eat your ass 😡😡😡
I get comments from girls that I'm TOO short yet I'm at least 1 inch taller compared to all of them... *Hugs Weeb because I'm also a 5'7 manlet* I should move to asia were I would be considered at least average...
Most people are not attracted to tall girls. I'm not attracted to guys my height or shorter. I'm 5'5 but could never date a guy 5'6-5'10. All the guys I have ever had crushed on were over 6ft. One of them was even 6'7 (we are still friend and have been for years). It's a preference. To me short guys remind me of little kids or children. Also, if they're tall it help balances the height difference. I think it's cute seeing short girls with tall guys (*snaps*) we short people are winning don't hate dude lol jk.
I'm swamped by guys who love tall girls. It's a supermodel look, and it's exotic. Not to mention, it ensures taller and stronger children who will be more successful on average. It's also a sign of wealth, health, and good nutrition. I can see over crowds, I draw attention when I enter a room, I don't look like a victim on the streets, I exude a sense of power and authority, and I can reach things easily. I have only had one man in my whole life say that he was afraid to date a tall girl, but he was still very attracted to me and looked me up years later when he was less afraid of what people would think. Maybe you just attract guys who like short women.
LOL! It's because guys don't care about your height so much--it's your body shape that matters much more. And some of those short girls have incredible curvy but fit bodies that no guy--tall or short--can resist. Fortunately most girls are into taller guys so we have better choices.

I don't know. I'm 5'2 (157 cm) And I prefer short guys-avarage height guys. But I could date tall it's just I would have to jump when kissing him lol. It would be weird not to reach. But I think some tall guys choose short girls because they feel more manly and that they can protect us.
I mean maybe those people in the pictures just liked each other for who they were instead of considering their height in the matter? I mean I don't know, I'm just saying that it COULD be a possibility. But pssht, I'm probably wrong. After all, liking someone for who they are is preposterous! Tall must mate with tall and short with short, nothing else of course. I mean those girls must totally be delusional.
Guys usually like women that are shorter then they are. Women usually like guys to be taller. It is just that simple. I prefer women in the 5' 7" to 5' 10" inch range. But I have dated down to 5' 1" and I would go up to 6'. I am 6' 3"
Actually, the norm changes from place to place. The norm in some countries is over 5'10" - 6ft for women and over 6 ft for men. In another country it's 5'5" for men and 5'2" for women. So, no the norm is not just short women, it's highly dependent on location.
@emmalouise: your vocabulary demeans your intellect my dear so we are not talking to retards with limited knowledge and who don’t know how to converse intelligently. Oh how sad we never knew that tall girls have their brains scattered too did we? Elongated, stretched out like those with gigantism as a genetic anomaly. Makes perfect sense to give you attribution;) lol
Emma Louise has limited capacity to think and it shows in her immature choice of reply. Her brain was stretched disproportionately just like dare I say saggy elongated boobs lol
@Emmalouise03 People in every area have more of certain personalities than of others. It's like Middle Easterners being more strict and conservative, that's 100% true in most cases. Dutch girls tend to be more *itchy, in your face, and ornery without manners. My area has many Norwegian immigrant descendants, and we are all more mellow, respectful, and laid back. So, yeah, there's a reasonable reason to believe that people who share our DNA might also be mellow. Are you sure you are not Dutch by blood? ha ha. There's definitely a stereotype that Norwegians are nice, chill people. Maybe it's just you who is the exception? Maybe all the good Norwegians leave to get away from grouchy Norwegians, and the ones who leave make everyone think Norwegians are nice. ha ha
I will give a better example in numbers. There are about 5.258 million Norwegians in Norway. There are about 4.643 million Norwegian Americans. Most of our families came in the mid-1800's through 1920. That's pretty recent as far as history goes, and most Norwegian lines here have people of similar dispositions. It goes without saying that humans everywhere are shaped first by DNA and later by culture. So, if modern Norwegians have similar dispositions to you, then it's a cultural issue that's happened in very recent history. Something must have really changed in Norwegian culture after WW1. That makes me a bit sad, but Norwegian Americans will maintain a pleasant, lovable, and respectful demeanor for now.
Many people who visit Norway think Norwegians are rude. People who know Norwegian Americans think Norwegians are nice. Maybe something rubbed off when the Germans invaded, and/or it's related to the poverty that immigrants coming here escaped when the country's economy fell. Norwegian Americans are generally more calm and reserved, but we are still polite and friendly even to strangers. We make people feel welcome, comfortable, and use manners while still not overstepping. Apparently, that's a definitely cultural difference now. Interesting.
Secondly, Lebensborn... and the bad treatment of half-German babies left behind after WW2. Not to mention the mistreatment of their mothers.
So, the Norwegian reputation is generally really bad or really good. I am just thinking out loud at this point.
@wolfcat87 u can't judge every norwegian from one person, also norwegians do get upset, everyone does doesn't matter where tf ur from. U two just piss me off ur seriously stupid enough to believe norwegians can't get upset? And bitch ur not norwegian, u brown ass bitch
@Emmalouise03 Actually, no one said that Norwegians cannot get upset... You don't appear to have good reading comprehension skills or much of an understanding of genetics. People from everywhere get upset, but they don't all act like you when they do. Maybe you are mentally ill? All places have mentally ill people. Don't you have good healthcare for that?
I might be right in saying that all of the good Norwegians left the gene pool during the economic depression. XD Maybe our ancestors where the only ones intelligent or well off enough to afford to... That might explain your behavior. My ancestors, and people like them, proceeded to gain 100 billion dollars worth of U. S. soil, formed a state half the size of Norway, then spread out to claim new land, and what did yours do? lol. Guess this brown girl wins. XD ha ha ha. Also, no I am not 100% Norwegian. I don't need to be. I'm a mix of a powerhouse of ethnicities that came together to make this awesome country with warm beaches, fun swamps, enormous mountain ranges, shifting deserts, massive canyons and lakes, and just about any setting I could play in. Norway is boring, homogeneous, cold, has lame food, and sucks in general.
Studies show that short women are the most happy when they are in relationship with tall men. Among marriages, it was found the most happy pairing was tall men/short woman.
In a somewhat related study: It was found women would often get married sooner to men who were tall and less financially stable compared to men who were short. Tall in this case meant men who were 6'0+ while short attributed to men 5'8 and under.
"The study was run by Kitae Sohn from Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea. It was a survey completely by almost 8,000 adult women, and it found a positive correlation between the husband's height and how happy the wife was. He also found that the bigger the height difference was between the couple, the happier the wife was. Sohn added that this correlation actually dissipates over time and is no longer relevant after the first 18 years of marriage."
#1. This only applies to South Korea where the population is homogeneous (people are pretty similar overall). #2. It wears off over time.
"Even more importantly, this study only found a correlation- and correlation does not equal causation. Ie. Being a tall husband does not definitely make a wife happy, just like being a short husband doesn't make a wife unhappy."
"As for guys, 180cm is the equivalent line. Taller than 180cm, and you’re “tall.” Shorter than 170cm, and you are considered “short.” Between 170–180cm is the average. 187cm and you will be quite popular in Korea. Korean women tend to love tall guys for some reason"
To address no 2. This is just a natural reaction to being with someone for a long time and is not solely attributed to height. For example- Person A could be drawn to person B because of their English accent but if you live with someone you tend to acclimatize to them in a sense.
Correlation gives us a trend in patterns and is basis for science. The study states that in aspect of height, women were most happy when there was a big difference between the husband and wife's height.
This study is not looking for a cause but correlation in pattern. It should be pointed out that in 2011 study on marriage pattern which looked at marriage patterns of thousands of people dating back to 1980's, that it was found that women were willing to get married sooner to a tall man (6'0+) earlier in life (20's) compared to shorter men (5'8 and under) who would get married later in life (30's) to younger women.
The researchers cam to the conclusion that women were willing to take less focus on financial security if their husband was tall due to the desirable physical attributes associated with height when it comes to members of opposite sex. On the other hand, shorter men who married later often got married to younger women who made less money than them and used their higher earning power to lessen the amount of housework they would have to do.
Nothing can be based off of one study, and you should know that correlation does not equal causation. This is especially true in a study limited in such a geographic and ethnic way. Now, if there were 100 studies around the world, this might hold true. That being said, South Korea is the plastic surgery capital of the world, because so few things set people apart that sometimes plastic surgery is what gets you a job! People there are also extremely superficial and obsessed with appearances as a cultural norm. It's normal for strangers there to walk up and point out what on your body needs fixing through surgery, diet, etc. They are an extreme overall. The same cannot be said for the whole world.
Also, this is not a controlled study, it's simply an observation. There's a difference. Studies are much more intense, control for confounding factors, and are the golden standard. This is basically just asking people their opinions over time. No conclusion can be drawn.
I know of this other paper. It's actually why shorter men tend to be more financially secure by the time they marry. Walk into a poor area in the U. S. and see how many children on welfare have tall fathers... The vast majority do.
Short men take care of their families, have more stable marriages, and they do more for their families at home. There's a reason why there are still so many short men in the world. I dated short guys, and they will bend over backwards to do what needs to be done in a relationship! I dated a guy, planned to visit, and his family built a whole new room onto their house for me! They built it in a month, and it's spectacular! How many tall families would do the same? They fed me, gave me many gifts, and spoiled me. I married a tall guy, and tall families are the opposite. They make more money overall , but they tend to be more stingy and miserable. I've been courted by many men. Short men have better personalities.
The short women are so much more aggressive than the tall ones. I prefer a 6' woman but most of the time they tend to be stuck up while I have this 5'2" starting to get physical.
@Shygirl666 Also, per an anon below, there is a 6'9" Russian model online and her parents are 6'1" mom and 6'5" dad. So it happens- sexual dimorphism is required to balance those genes and it also causes the dna combining to perform more error checking. . So I wonder if the tall stuck-up girls deep down really want a shorter guy?
i wouldn't say thats majority. I see plenty tall guys dating tall girls since most people are not with partners shorter for them yet tall girls find the guy too. Some couples as this pics suggest have bigger height difference, some dont.

Well I'm more than happy to report that this tall girl (5' 10") got her tall man (6' 3") and will be marrying him in two weeks time.
Wow congrats!!!
@ImJustCurious13 Thank you so much.
We are tall so the girls obviously appear shorter than us.

Does anyone else think it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Weeb, a guy with a girlfriend, is NOT one of those “short” guys that should be complaining or is it just me that that bothers?
@CarpetDenim let him complain Carpy 😡
I won’t let him, it’s disrespectful and insulting to me and y’know, as his girlfriend I take offense to it
Although I wasn't really complaining in the original post. More pointing out something factual
To be fair I don’t really complain as much anymore 🧐
@disgustingweebtrash Okay, so you didn’t really complain in this one post. I stalk you on the daily tho and you complain literally all the time. And yeah, like Novi said, even he calmed down considerably after he got a girlfriend, and he was probably even worse than you were before.

@CarpetDenim lmao 😂 😂
Most people are not attracted to tall girls. I'm not attracted to guys my height or shorter. I'm 5'5 but could never date a guy 5'6-5'10. All the guys I have ever had crushed on were over 6ft. False, most guys love tall girls.
I don’t think guys like one more than the other guys smh
@wolfcat87 really? Very few guys I know like tall girls. Some do but not a lot.
That's me and my wife 😆
It's not the girls... it's mostly the guys because we like them short 🥰
What do you like about short women?
I don't know... they're so cute and make us look taller
Also I Iike it when we kiss and how she has to stretch out upwards... not to mention in bed 😉
😘...
*dodged the kiss*
Hey watch that... I'm a married man 😆
I’m in a relationship also... with a tall man lol
Do you struggle to get a kiss as well? lol
He bends down
Same here... but I love it when she on her toes to get a kiss
Or when she stands on something so that she can be taller... so cute 🥰

Girls can be tall and curvy or short and stick shaped...
True but it’s the norm to have feminine features as short ness or not being quite tall, are features expressed with estrogen hormones.
ur so.. annoying omg. i bet ur an old little fat chick so shut up

Makes sense.
