Cause the society says so
hypergamy at its finest
Lol women are good for nothing
I don't tip
men r paid more.
No men are paid the same. Women just tend to work less paying jobs on average.
This is why the wage gap theory exists.
@Tilin29
What she meant to say was that men are paid more because we work harder.
@englisc no she didn’t
@Appless
Yeah you're right, she's probably a retard who thinks that women are paid less for the same job.
@englisc well i mean they are, however its due to the company suspecting they’ll have more time off (e. g. pregnancy).
@Apless
No. You don't get paid less because the company plans or suspects you having a child in the future.
There's no cases I found about this, so this is just a random statement. But here's the case: men tend to focus on work, while women rather focus on their family. Not in every case, but in a lot.
@Tilin29 A lot of women nowadays focus on work a lot, hence why the amount of children per couple is lowering.
@Appless
There's still more to it than that. Men and women gravitate towards different careers. For example despite the push to encourage more women into engineering and more men into nursing, 90% of engineers are men and 90% of nurses are women. Men and women are different in general, want different things, enjoy different things, prioritise different things. In general, women prioritise comfort whereas men prioritise earnings, that's why most dangerous and dirty jobs are done by men. My job pays well, requires long unsociable hours, is dangerous sometimes, and it's dirty work - I've met hundreds of people here, and have only met two women who do the job I do.
The earnings gap is real, but it's not based on pay for the same work, it's based on overall earnings of men and women on average. When you compare those, yes, women earn 70% of what men earn. But those who tell you that it's about pay for the same work are lying. No real economist takes this seriously, this myth has been debunked many times. It's a combination of: men working more unsociable hours, high stress, high risk, dirty work, all of which pays more.
An example from the UK which shows how these people bed the truth: not long ago there was a debate that council workers whose jobs were considered to be the same level (level 3 or something like that) were being paid unequally because of sexism. In reality, indoor cleaners were being paid less than garbage disposal workers. They might have been both considered "level 3", but the cleaners worked inside, in warm buildings, low-risk work. The garbage disposal workers worked outside in all weathers, often heavy labour, high risk of injury. That's why they were paid more. And it just so happened that most of the cleaners were women, and most of the garbage disposal workers were men. In fact female garbage disposal workers got paid the exact same as the men did. Feminists just left all of that shit out to claim that it was sexism.
@Apless
It's not because of women. Both men and women choose to have less kids. This is nature probably taking care of the over population.
@Tilin29
It isn't nature taking care of overpopulation. Low birthrates are mostly in rich countries, whereas poorer countries have much higher birthrates. So many children and so little food that many of them tragically starve to death. If nature were to take care of overpopulation, those people would have less children, not rich people. The reason rich people don't have children is partly because they've been influenced not to, and partly because they make so much money and have access to so many modern luxuries, modern technology etc. that children become less of a priority, money and material things do instead.
Social standards.
They want da pushy!
