I think it has more to do with how that individual views your provided professionalism or their need to embellish their ego... Men would usually tip women better and vice versa, women will tip a attractive waiter more than a waitress. So there is a bit of sexism involved to a degree.
I never tip. As a waiter, you get payed to do your job. If the payment is not enough, look for something else to do.
It would be pretty f*cked up if I had a tip jar at the base and after every patrol, people would be expected to tip me, who live under the airspace we were in.
Or the firefighter would pee in your house after estinguishing a fire, if you didn't tip him.
Then don't take that job. It is all supply and demand. If waiters would start saying no en masse, things would change.
OR, have a compulsory service fee. That is okay with me as well, because that is something you can calculate with. But I hate paying extra to get proper service. I will not bribe anyone for them not to spit in my food.
And if I even happen to notice, I always press charges at the food safety authority. Which usually ends in a hefty fee for the place.
Why? Because I'm the customer and I deserve the goddamn service for my money.
As for behaviour: I am never rude to anyone who provides the service. I'm extremely polite, because that is what I demand in return. Without having to pay extra.
Ir a jerkkkk u can’t just ‘get another job’- waitressing IS the ‘other job’ until u can get a good one, and it rlly sucks, i hope u get stuck doing it ine day and then ull realise what a douche u r
If there is a restaurant, I really enjoy being at.. The food is nice.. The waiters and waitresses are kind and personal (not distanced).. The atmosphere is comfortable, I happily leave a bit more money.
I don't care much for money, so it doesn't hurt me and if I can make someone else happier by something so little, after being treated nicely, then why the hell wouldn't I?
It's not all about high standards, service, ideals and norms because yes.. I expect that to be included in the price. If you get me to like you as a person however (not just as a waiter / waitress) then that's a different matter.
A friend of my parents leads a restaurant and he is one of the kindest people I've ever met.. I love going there just for the staff, not caring much about the food or service.
His thanks when someone leaves a tip is always heartfelt and makes you sense his appreciation.
I would never leave a tip for how good the food was or how professional the service has been.. I leave tips for the people.
I once gave a 10€ tip in a Chineese restaurant and the server lady got upset and wanted me to take it back hehehe I guess I do tip a lot. But that's cause I used to work with people. Restaurants and hotels. And I know how stressful that is. So I don't mind.
She didn't get upset cause you tip a lot, she got upset because it's mostly an American tradition (and few other countries) to tip. Other countries don't do this, so the Chinese lady, even in a Western country wouldn't want it. It's even considered rude in some countries
It breaks down like this, see. You have this orifice between your legs called a vagina. Men have this appendage between theirs that is called a penis. Men are driven by this urge to insert that appendage (the penis) into your orifice (your vagina). Oftentimes they will behave in ways they hope will make you amenable to that prospect (Buying gifts, giving compliments, tips, etc). Its frankly quite alarming that you've made it to age 25 without figuring this out. Even if your parents never taught you anything, you should have picked up on it by now. Its kind of fundamental to human interaction.
🙄 I tip on average 20% Men tip pretty women. I’ve had dates that refused to tip by men before🤷🏾♀️ Who tf is tipping 70%

Tipping is only a thing in America (and only a couple others, but not to US's extent), and it gets too much sometimes. If you go to other countries, the servers don't accept tips. It's even rude in certain countries. So to call someone rude for not paying extra is somewhat ridiculous. Entitlement is not a good thing, and there's a reason why it's only super popular in America, and not say, Australia.

I’m not really sure why men tip more. Probably something to do with the wage gap. Me personally I always tip a lot unless the service is really bad. Since my mother is a waitress it gives me a bit of appreciation to it.
Women by nature are naturally a lot more fussy, self-entitled and have higher expectations than men. Your average woman dreads having to pay for the full bill, let alone a tip!
There are two point of view of this! 1. Women are more miser than men. 2. Usually women runs home they knew that how difficult it is to run home while having no budget so they tried to save as much as they can for the bad times.
25%-70% isn't normal in the slightest and you shouldn't be comparing such generosity to what is usually required (15%-20%). my mother is actually a little too generous. your little argument is like some church asking for at least a $5 donation and then getting mad a woman gives $200 and a man gives $700. get a fucking grip.
HOOOOT because the gals are still new to the "BILL".

Women almost always have higher standards then men - you can also see it in other spheres of human life like relationships. I think it's mostly because they can have higher standards and can get away with it - if men were constantly moaning and were never satisfied, they would destroy their relationships, but an attractive woman can get away with much more because of her attractiveness. Also if the waitresses are female men will likely tip more than women because they get attracted to them.

My guess would be that men tip women waitresses more than male, and that women tip male waiters more than women. I'm also not a waiter and don't have as much experience.

Sex sells.
This is also why I avoid restaurants that use tipping. I've noted that the system is extremely corrupt and biased. So I don't give business to restaurants that use a tip system.
It's not a secret that most women are cheaper then men, or more reluctant to part with their money if that is less offensive. They try to manipulate and shame men into giving them money all the time.
Could be because there are usually more female waiting staff then male waiting staff and men assume a bigger tip means possible sexy time. I don't tip... ever!
It's not common to tip in the UK, in some places it is actually seen as bad form to tip for one reason or another. You suck for assuming that every country is just ok with the concept of tips!
Actually my country doesn't tip. The way u said it sounded like ur country tipped and u were just choosing not to lol but if u r not meant to then i am sorry, u not longer suck lol

In some countries, waiters or waitresses payments are lowered because they're expected to gain the difference in tips though.

Is 10€ like 10$
It is!
lol isn't that a normal amount
@candycanehearts yeah... but she was nice and we are regular customers so I always tip around 10€ (10$)
Nice👍👍

I don't know?
Because women know how screwed up it is that restaurants don't pay their staff enough that they have to ask customers for extra money.
I know it's not going to change in America but in Britain we actually pay our culinary staff correctly.
Honestly, i think you get bigger tips from men simply because you're a woman.
Im not that pretty - not for a 70% tip, unless guys just do it as like a gender role hand me out or somethin?
You have boobs. You have an ass. No matter its size, they're looking at it. Not to mention they likely think your kindness is flirting.
No rebuttle here lok

Lol the point isn't the amount itself, the point is that although the standard tip is 15-20% men always tip more.
Tipping 15-20% is fine, no one is complaining about that, but men still tip more than women - hence the point of this question.
In comparison, this means women do only the bare minimum for the same excellent service, that a man tips more for.
Why bare minimum compared to men?
sorry, maybe i misunderstood it, but it sounded a lot like you just complaining women don't up their tips to match a 70% tip.
Oh no worries, someone made a point about women often thinking of other financial needs, so they moreso budget a meal. Makes sense to meh
I am a server and i will absolutely send my steak back if i orderedbit medium rare and it cvomes out medium. I dont pay for over cooked steak.
cause men think it raises their chances to get laid with them. it's not a rational thing. it's in our primitive brain.

Dammit. Always snagged in some sexist societal web somehow.
Haha!!!
If a tip system went on the basis of skin color, no one would have given a down-vote.
But the fact is: that is part of it
