Guys, I accidentally called the guy I like bro and now he's calling me bro?

I called the guy I like "bro" accidentally in a little phrase over text and he took about 5 minutes to reply and sent his reply with "bro". This was yesterday and today I was snapping him and told him something nice and he sent a good picture of himself and replied "thanks bro!" I call all my friends bro and it just accidentally came out, but I never meant to refer to him like that. I know I could just be honest with him, but the thing is he doesn't live where I live so if I'm honest I don't want to scare him away and have him not talk to me anymore. We're like long distance friends and when we call we're a little flirty and he takes interest in me and my life. He's called me pretty and stuff and I know we may never become something, but I don't want to be his "bro". I'm 18 years old and I'm going to have the ability to travel more soon. I made sure to reply to him " you're welcome *his name*" I made sure not to call him bro. Do you think he got that I didn't want to call him bro or just didn't think about it?

first, congratulations, you're the main character of a bad sitcom

if he has no problem with it, then you should be fine. replying to him and using his name, if not a common thing, could cause them to worry that maybe he did something wrong. using a name in a text or something similar implies a more professional environment and less intimate or friendly. and if you like him, tell him. if he doesn't reciprocate then no big deal, can still be friends.

i'd think he wouldn't think about it unless you pointed it out though.

Well I can't say that he likes you the same way for sure but if I were you I would continue talking with him and maybe say you want to meet him. If you meet him that's probably the best time to see how you feel and opening up to him.

He might think you like it? You know, if you like a guy and he does/say something and you copy it, same thing here maybe? I'd just keep talking, saying his name and not bro, it might take a bit of time for it to change, but he'll probably get the hint? I doubt he has yet, but maybe? Or, simply tell him you don't like it, although you would have to somehow try and explain why you said it lol
