Does this mean he likes you? Every time you see a guy that you're flirting with, he asks what's going on with your ex (who you still talk to and who wants you), guy friends that he knows like you, and preferences like when you want to get married, how do you act in certain situations, feelings on cheating, etc... does this mean he probably likes you and is phishing to see if you're a match or just making conversation? He also says he's taking notes on the things I say that I like (ex. I prefer him not saying awkward jokes during our serious talks so he says he's making a mental note on this and doesn't do it again.)

Keep in mind that it's hard to know for sure as I don't know him.

I get 2 distinct and opposite feelings about this guy:

1- He could be an inexperienced guy who doesn't know how to deal with women. Maybe he likes you but doesn't know how to actually start dating you, maybe he is too shy about it. Maybe he doesn't think you like him (guys can be really dumb like that, even if you flirt with them). In this case, you should ask him out, tell him, hey, I wanna go for drinks (or a fun activity like pool, skating...) with you. Then if he doesn't escalate, it'll be up to you...

2- He could be a jealous guy who is also too shy to ask you out. Or maybe he'd be interested if you didn't have your ex around and he's unwilling to date you knowing you aren't moving on (as in: dropping all contact with an ex). Personally I'm not a jealous guy, but I have an issue with girls who keep their ex around, and similarly with girls who, when I start dating them, still keep lots of guys around who they know the guys like them. In this case, if you like the guy, you could "fix things" by telling him you've dropped all contact with your ex because you realize it prevents you from moving on, so uh... wanna go for drinks together? hehe

Better yet, I'll give you the best answer award! Thank you, thank you! I actually think he's a combo of both... I told him the a few days ago that I told my ex to stop talking to me and that I'm done with him and he seems to be more responsive of this. Once he realized that I'm more available and not taken he talks to me more. :)
