Why is my boyfriend secretive with his phone?

He quickly swipes off pages on his social media, when i walk up to him, last night i walked towards him and he quickly swiped across his phone, why would he do that, he says that i do it sometimes and he's right i do but thats only when im talking to my mum or sisters about him when weve had an argument but he doesn't talk to his mum on instagram, so who could it be that he doesn't want me to see, weve had multiple arguments about trust because of his behaviours and he gets really annoyed saying what more can he do, he says he's never done anything to me, why can't you trust me, he gets really upset and angry, what do i do, its just his behaviours that i can't stand, weve argued about it before about why he hides his phone and he says because he's having private conversations with his friends.

You do not trust him and he does not trust you. He is either hiding something from you, or feels that he should be able to do the things you do to him. Which is keeping conversations private and making it known to the other person you are hiding things. If you 2 ever wish to have a happy and healthy relationship, then it is best to be as transparent as possible with no more hiding things and secrets. Everything should be out in the open to regain trust on both ends.

Then ask him more what kind of private conversation. If he said it's between guys. Then tell him no need to hide his phone from you. Tell him that you have a trust issue. And tell him if he kept acting like this, it seems like he's cheating on you.

anger and being upset is an indicator that he wants to punish you for your interest in his private communication.
It's very likely that there is somebody in closer contact who could be against your interest.
If he would just play with you to arouse your interest or jealousy, he wouldn't act angry.

So what are you saying, that it sounds like he is talking to another girl or it could be completely someone that i shouldn't be worried about, the thing is, everything he does like turns his phone, clicks off pages and stuff, i do exactly the same thing to him probably worse but im not cheating so could he just be playing me at my own game because everytime i say something to him about his behaviour he says well you do it to me so why can't i do it he says.

he never asks anything, when i do turn my phone the other way away from him or i click off things quickly he says why are you doing that? and then gets annoyed at me for doing things, but i would never act aggressive towards him no, but i reckon the reason he does is because he gets frustrated at me for being bothered and annoyed at what he does when i do exactly the same thing to him and he doesn't say anything, i feel like sometimes he likes to test me to see how i would react if he does it
