Why does my guy friend hide his phone from me?

We are friends but I think he wants to be more than friends. Whenever he's on his phone, he never wants me to look at it. He was "showing" me this funny Tik Tok once and he only wanted me to hear it, not see it. Not that I care, but he makes it a big deal.
A few days ago he was showing his friend something on his phone and I looked over at his phone to see but he moved away from me and held the phone closer to his friend.

Everyone likes privacy, even if I don't have anything to hide, sometimes a text can come up on my screen while I'm showing someone something, and it might not be something you NEED to hide, but it's still uncomfortable when other people read a conversation. Who knows, maybe his screen is covered with fingerprints and its embarrassing lol. Coming from a person with anxiety, any sort of thing could set off the awkward alarm and make me want to hide my phone

Phones are private, it's pretty rude of you to be trying to pry into it.


And if anything if you were considering forming a relationship with him, and he were considering it as well. You're giving him reason to have reservations about you, when youve proved you won't respect his privacy.


It's a sign of someone with no respect for the person they're with, and a warning that they have the potential to become controlling if a relationship developed.

I also always hide my phone or what I'm doing on my phone from other people, family included, simply because it's my privacy and I have the right to keep my stuff private. I even bought a specific screen protector that unables others to see what I'm doing.

If he's good-looking probably because he gets naked pics from chicks. Even if he's not all that attractive he still might get some naughty stuff coming through and doesn't want you to see because he feels like you'll perceive him in a different light. Especially if he wants something with you.

He might have you as a Lock Screen or Home Screen and is scared you’ll find out. I had a guy friend like that and one day I was joking around put my BIRTHDAY in as his password not thinking it would go through and it DID and his Home Screen was ME 😂
