I'm two inches shorter than you. I definitely heard comments about my height throughout the years, including a joke from an old boyfriend who used to call it 4'12''. ;-) But, I never felt rejected by men because of my height; if anything, I often felt like most men liked shorter women. I also like the fact that I can wear even 5-inch heels and still be shorter than practically all men, which keeps the range of available/interested guys wide.
All in all, I think being short is considered an impediment for men when it comes to relationships, not women. So, I'd suggest not to worry about it. Your rejection may be rather related to your feeling of insecurity than your actual height.
Yes, I have gotten a LOT of grief for my height. I'm 6 feet tall. It was ROUGH when I was younger, dating immature people who felt threatened by someone towering over them. I had a boy kick the heel of my high heel out from under me at my senior homecoming.
It took a while to come to terms with my height, but I was happier for it, and now I enjoy striding through rooms, head and shoulders above everyone else!
Keep your chin up, and since you're fortunately a nice, normal height, you'll come to terms with the length nature gave you too!

In the US, most guys want women shorter than they are, and many (like me) really like short girls. The one place I hear short women complain about men wanting tall girls is Sweden, but that's pretty unique to the area. In the rest of the world, short girls are just fine.

It's true that guys like taller girls than you they usually like those who are around 5'5 and 5'7. Really short girls are not popular cause they have short legs and don't look good in fashionable clothes (which is extremely important where I live).
Guys never make any comment on height I'm 5'6 so I'm pretty average. No never.
My height is good seen especially since I'm skinny people especially women say I look like a model and that I can wear anything because I'm tall and skinny. (women consider 5'6 as tall and men consider it as average here).

I am way too short for most guys to consider. I think average height for Swedish woman is 5'6" - 168cm
I think it's more around 173 cm the average in Scandinavian countries, you have to consider that the immigrants lower the height and to what my parents told me they're very tall there so I think average height is more 170 / 175 cm for women than 160 cm.
I think there I would be considered pretty short even though I'm 169 cm.

I think only Scandinavian, especially Swedish men have obsession with tall girls. Germans dont care about womens height. But I have been in Sweden and shorter girls really struggle in dating there. As I know cosmetic leg lenghtening surgery is quite popular among girls there because guys won't consider girls under 170cm.
If you do search here "short girls sweden" you will see many questions. Even asker herself is Swedish so her height issues makes sense. I dont know well about France. Is it that extreme as Sweden? Do guys there reject shorter girls?
@Lolalish It's not as extreme in France but many do reject short girls, the big problem is that they get mocked a lot for it. I don't think it's as extreme but they can be quite dirty with short girls by mocking them and it's pretty harsh too.
I didn't think sweden was that extreme wow, but it's not that surprising either, they're so tall so it would be awkward to date a short girl

As a Swedish man I'm not sure why she does this as it's not very true especially not the part about leg lengthening. Leg lengthening is not common at all here.

I just checked and majority of people are actually alone. Only 1 person on 5 have a partner (for those that are 25 or under), 76 of men this age never been in a relationship ever and 56% person have woman never got in a relationship.
For those that are between 25 and 35 year old 25% of men never been in a relationship and 15 % of women.
So yes majority of people especially young are single in France. There's 40 % of the people in France that are single (that are of age to get into a relationship) and 2 of 3 of them are women.
@kim45456 Yes apparently it's not surpsing considering there's much more women than men in my country, so it's pretty normal.
Too most single women or old women (window or divorced) don't even bother with men anymore, they find them to bothersome cause they're too lazy (the women work outside but the men don't help them at with the housework so they have to do everything and get much more work to do).

@kim45456 No it's the whole France that is like that, we're a Latin country and latin country are much more backward than Germanic and Scandinavian countries.
We have a Catholic culture and catholic culture have always been way more backward and old school.
Guys are surely more modern in Paris and other really big cities but on average sized cities it's just like I said.

@alice55 Well I don't think anyone is able to figure this out but she posts this question just asked differently and she uses minimum two accounts to do it. I've been here for two and a half years now she has done it for as long as I can remember.
I've tried too many times to talk some sense with her and it's not possible. Also her Swedish is very bad for a Swedish person. This is the first time she has spoken about leg lengthening though which is something I don't know anyone in Sweden to have done and it would be super expensive I don't even know if they actually do it in Sweden at all. I know that it's not common at all though and men here are too desperate to have requirements of length. Women in Sweden have majority of the choosing power when it comes to dating.
All of this is very confusing and at this point I don't know why I bother to comment on her posts. I don't even know why she is so obsessed with saying Swedish men dislike short women.

Anyhow, if you are on this site for a while you will see that this exact specific subject will come again and again with the same exact type of argument and her writing is easy to identify which is also a part to how I know it's multiple accounts.
@simonqq In China they have forbidden this surgery cause it's too dangerous so if China have forbidden it I doubt it exist in Sweden. Too I don't see Swedish women being the type to go through such length to be seen as attractive considering how tattoo, short hair and "guys" clothes are pretty popular there (to what I can have seen at least).

I did used to be very self conscious about it and actually believed that guys liked short girls better and was afraid they'd see me as masculine because of my height. I really wanted to be around your height! Now, I've just accepted it and am fine with it, but don't really feel any particular way about it other than that it comes in handy while reaching for stuff on high shelves, lol!
I don't think most guys like tall girls. I've heard they liked short ones more. But I think taller people look much better in clothes. I'm 5'4'' and really into fashion. I've always wished i was 5'6'' so that I look more graceful and elegant in my clothes. Taller girls get more clothing options too.

Everyone has they're own preferences. Most men won't really care about height unless they're short themselves. I am 5'2" growing up many women made it seem like short women were more attractive but everyone is different. I've met y'all 6'1" guys who said they love women taller than them. But that doesn't mean they won't find a short girl unattractive

Im 5'1 and men and women have made fun of how short I am all the time. Guys used to tell me to wear heels because I'm "so short". Being called "midget" isn't fun either. I had a tall female friend and whenever we were around men she thought it was funny to make fun of my height. Nowadays, men prefer tall women or women of their similar stature. Either way, embrace your natural self. Be proud to be you and never let anyone make you feel less pretty than who you are. Society wants to tear women's self-esteem down, so don't take heed to the comments of men. Half the time, they have no clue what is natural or not (beauty-wise).

Sure, I'm 5'2 too and my partner is 6'0 so there's a 10 inch height difference between us which he thoroughly enjoys. He often makes teasing comments about my height and how much taller he is than me, I don't mind it. Sometimes other guys make derogatry comments about my height and I'm not a fan of that but I've never felt rejected by it.

Many years ago i wor Kim ed for a dating company that had dinners as get-togethers as we started our selections to call to invite to the dinner the first criteria was that the men should not be shorter than the women... plus the women should nearly always be younger. When we didn't follow this rule reasonably consistently we were inundated with complaining customers/guests the next day

Guys tend to like shorter women because the shortness is subconsciously perceived as "feminine". People may make fun of your height, but just know that more men than you think will like you more for your height initially.

As a guy, I can honestly say I love short and petite women. Nothing against taller ladies, but 5' always catch my eye. We all have different ideals when it comes to attraction but it's the other party's fault if they express it in a demeaning manner.
