Often times, yes, especially if it's uncalled for. I've had a few guys I did absolutely nothing to and was even nice to insult and try to humiliate me (insulting me in front of other people and trying to get their pathetic friends to join in) because they were extremely insecure and intimidated by me, I guess because I wasn't and with some of them, there was probably something I did better than them that really burned their ass.

Lol, the funny thing is, that the worst offender now only hangs out with teenagers (and is dating one, which at 26 is absolutely disgusting) and is a loser who has gone nowhere in life and needed to be pushed by Mommy and Daddy to do what little he has succeeded at. He hasn't changed a bit since high school, which is pretty bad considering he couldn't do anything on his own then and nearly flunked out, and was a major asshole to everyone back then. Oh, he also used to call me fat and give me shit about it, but now has a double chin, himself (and I lost weight, lol). Karma's a bitch.

I think it's the other way around. Often the woman who feels "insulted" by a man/men, or cheated on, etc. is the type to slander men. Hell, I met a woman on my job a few weeks ago who outright told me she was divorced and "hated men."

Contrary to all the "incel" and rejected guy philosophies that women of today try to use to shut men up when they talk about women, the actual truth is that if a man wants to insult a woman, he will do it whether or not he's an incel or been rejected or scorned by a woman.

I hate it when people use insults to one another in general. I am not going to say that men don't insult women, but women insult men and the genders insult themselves. In my opinion, insulting somebody shows ignorance and a lack of respect no matter who it is coming from and should be avoided if possible.
As to it making them feel superior, I think people insult each other, in part, because they feel hurt for some reason and are lashing out by using ad hominem. Sometimes it is used to make the person feel superior: the n-word, the c-word, savage, barbarian, etc; however, I feel like it is used more, at least in the modern-day, as a way to lash out when that person is hurt.

No, I don't think they do that to feel superior.
I think the men you're describing are the portion of males that manage to collect quite a few bad habits: trash talking, impolitness, self-centerness, low self control and (last but not least) VERY insecure. Insecurity is what makes you feel better when bringing other people "to your own level" degrading them with insults.
That luckily isn't a massive portion of man. If I had to throw some numbers as example, I'd say they are between 2 and 8% of men. If we extend that to people who do insult other easily but NOT with the purpose of feeling superior (just for the other bad habits I mentioned), that number would range between 10 and 20%. Also, it's a curable "disease" if I may call it so, as it stems mostly from upbringing.
With that said, I don't quite understand what you mean with the last two sentences, would you mind explaining in a few more lines?

Any man can insult any woman under the right circumstances. That's not something you can draw conclusions from. But if a guy goes around constantly denigrating women? You can probably draw something from that. It might not be that it makes him feel superior, he might be trying one of those ridiculous Pick Up Artist strategies. I will add... I have noticed with some guys who were almost wired to be insulting often with women... how they change if/when have a daughter...

And, maybe more interesting or thought starting is I've also known some guys who are the insulting type but also have a "I'll kill you"-like trigger if anybody says anything about the guy's mother.

These generalization are bad or good depending on
which they encountered most also their perspective plays big role in it.
Person with positive mindset doesn't generalize because every person has layers of qualities. People judge other based on which layer they experienced.

The ones who do that are under the impression that insulting and harassing women will make women fall in love with them. And the very sad thing is, it sometimes works. One exception: when I would be really mad at someone, then perhaps out of anger. But here I don't make a distinction between men and women... so does that count: I wouldn't see it that way. Luckily, this happens extremely rarely.
