Do guys that use more emojis appear more desparate/insecure?

Well honestly I can use them for two reasons. The first being is that when typing something out its hard to tell that persons tone by words alone so say if a message had a smiley face emoji at the end then to me it would seem that it conveys a friendly tone. As well as tones I also used them when trying to make friends as in my mind it would make me seem more expressive which I thought would keep the person I'm talking to engaged with me. However I actually do think that emojis can be used as a crutch by many to shield their insecurities as again it may make the person feel more expressive which therefore might lead to confidence!

Umm.. no? To me, guys (and women) that do not use emojis at all appear somewhat stuck up though. Outside of a professional setting that is.
Its pretty much as if they were talking to you without showing any facial expression or with a completely monotone voice.

This depents on the guy and the texts that he sends.  For example I find it cute when @Jjpayne uses emojis.  Can't say the same for most of the guys in here.

Where does this question come from? what is the logic or rationale behind you asking this question. To me there is no logic in your question.

However, the answer to your question is NO. In fact smileys are one of the best ways to express oneself in a non-verbal way and to express their state of mind, be it happy, sad, angry etc etc.

Damnn... I use so many emojis I've to warn people I'm texting with to not mind them 😂😂😂
Texting is such a tricky thing, my words can mean 2 opposite things if I don't give them some expression... And there comes the emojis...
I'm glad 82% girls think emojis are fine... Girls I've dated so far have been in this category thank God...😝😝

I dont like them, although I may have to use them when necessary for getting a message across. They make everyone's opinion on GAG feel mono-interconnected, by which I mean it feels like the a different opinion from the same person regardless of the name on top.

Emojis are expressive before they were this graphical I used to use those in sms yeah i know i am old 😂 like these ;) and it's best suited for insults when you use with Emojis they will be confuse did this guy really meant that or just joking 🤣 I use more for sarcastic purposes or showing cool 😎

If girls I talk to or girls on GAG have an issue with guys using emojis especially the current world events with the possibility of world war 3, another Great Depression, famine, and etc it will just indicate to me this world (especially people in the West) don't know how to prioritize real issues that are concerning to petty issues.

Tbh i started using them because my girl friends use them. They are easier than typing out every word. Plus girls do not have exclusivity to emojis.

Too many emojis might be weird especially if you're seriously trying to get to know each other (aka serious convos), but using emojis in casual texts is totally normal and fun!

Reading alm of the lady's responses makes me feel a lot better. I didn't really start using emojis and I'm still getting used to using them now. I used to be really deadpan in person to. Lots of walls had to be torn down first.

Emojis where to help the communication via text to signify the tone or expression of a sentence. So I don't see why using them is bad. Unless of course, one uses a ridiculously excessive amount.
