Do you take emojis as a way of feelings when talking to or dating a guy?

For me it’s almost like an expression. Some guys I’ve talked to in the past would be like “I miss you babe 😘😘😘” then I would say “miss you too 😘😘😘” then they reply with “😬” I’m like what?

hahaha, I am also like "what?" Unless he was trying to make a joke (which is possible, if he has a certain sense of humor. But otherwise... this doesn't make sense.

Could he be joking?

This joke is the equivalent of:

Him: "I like you"

Her: "I like you too"

Him: "well... now you've gone and made it awkward".

That is basically exctly what happened. Or I'm missing something here myself.

So, is it possible he was joking?

Emojis when frequently used are for children, or at least the very immature. The occasional one is tolerable.
