Not really. Actually I don't use them unless the other person does as I know some people aren't fans of them or like them. I will feel out the other person and his texting/messaging style and go from there.
However, using emojis too much- is a big turnoff for me. If he uses icons instead of words all the time, or uses them at the wrong time? I get annoyed because it feels like he's not taking me seriously. I guess I grew up in the era when we spoke or wrote out our feelings and thoughts, not used emojis all the time.
I use emoji depending on which person I'm texting to. If the person is serious and all then I don't use emoji but if the person is goofy and cheerful then I tend to use them more. I don't use many emoji too only 😊😶😏😑🙃🙊💞☺
I just use them, does not matter if a friend, chatting to the garage booking my car in for brake upgrade 👍🤩😈, or if fancy someone, or dating etc.

I only use emojis in conversations with people that I’m not really interested in or if they’re platonic in my life. With people who I am interested in, I don’t use emojis. Not sure why, just feels right that way.
I guess 🤨, I mean when I’m attracted to someone, I can get flustered 😖. So in trying to be cute ☺️, and not put my 🦶 in my 👄 , I guess I tend to use emojis too much 😖. LOL.
I’m not a huge fan of emojis. I’ll add one if I think my tone through text is unclear. I like them for that reason. I would say I used them less when I’m talking to someone I’m attracted to.

It is changing. But my favorite emoji is the Blue heart emoji. Because the Blue heart reminds me of the Revolution. And already in our country, the Revolution is mentioned with This Color.
