Guys are self-aware and basically admit to lying to women about being "good".
As always women have little knowledge about how much guys don't respect them lol.

Trending & News Yes, i know I'm gonna be very suspicious of every "male friend" my daughter (s) bring home cuz i know what that horny piece of (censored) is up to... They may be cool people & have a heart of gold but I'm still suspicious. All of this is because, as a shamed i may be I've been that guy & I'll probably be that guy for a few more years we have male friends to and I don't know if i want people like them dating my girls, there good friends but still... Anyways i hope my ranting helps u somehow :)
It confirms my hypotheses.
EXACTLY.
Sure, men are so pervy lol
We don't even have to be pervy...
It's more like:
"I was just like you when I was your age your horny little bastard.
You are not just going fuck my girl.
And you are not going to knock her up and ruin her life."
So, yes, fathers are protective...
And, one of the things young guys fear more than almost anything else is meeting the father. If that doesn't go well... that's bad. Although, the mother - that's the REAL power in the family. If the girl's mother likes the guy, the father will be leery but let things continue. If the mother doesn't like him, he is going to have a much tougher time unless she hates her mother.
This is why I made sure to always have good relationships with my "mother-in-law".
Also - I can't believe I did this 30 years ago - I was being teased a bit by my brand new girlfriend's father and his friend while at a Labor Day party. I had just met the parents the day before. So they were teasing me like "Well, where's this going to go..." that sort of thing. I put my arms around my girlfriend from behind her and I said "Mister ________. I love your daughter." We'd only been a couple for 1.5 weeks, but I was hopelessly in love with her for 2 weeks by then. Anyway, they stopped joking with me and were more laid-back. There was no anger or tension, but I was clear about what I said and I think they could sense my intensity about my feelings - that it was real and genuine. A man who has been in love understands that and, in a way, that answers his questions about intent... that I was not some fly-by-night guy just intent on having sex with her...
B T W, 27 years ago tonight - about 1.5 years after she dumped me - that father put his daughter on a plane to visit me. I visited her parents 2 months later. I still keep in contact with them and sent him a Father's Day card yesterday. They knew I was the real deal. They are not so fond of their existing son-in-law.
Such is life.
Men don't trust each other anyway...
Possibly. But it wasn't my point.

That's not being overprotective. That is being a father. Because now if something happens, who is the daughter going to turn to? Her father. Then what's going to happen if he is a dismissive parent? Complain about how he isn't involved in her life. Women can't have it both ways.
Why would she turn to her father and not her mother?
Because the father is the one who protect his family. Of there is no father she may try to turn to her mom, but that is depending on her temperament and mindset. Overall if both her parents are protective then she will go to both. But only a man understands another man. Just women like me are but few who do.
Men know men's true nature ๐คฃ๐
There's no good man lol
But you know why you believe is no good men around? Because you keep attracting new Goodman. Because it's something about you that's not healthy either. So how can you want something that you're not yourself and that's not to offend you is as a genuine question? You got to be who you want to attract.
Yeah... Right... If that's what you want to believe...
As long as you keep having that same attitude of mentality you going to repeal a lot of good people away from you. You have to change if you want a good man. Because if you don't change you going to God forbid abuse and mistreating that person. And they don't deserve that. They may be rare but they do exist. The real question is are you going to be able to appreciate that person even if they don't meet your expectations? Think about that before you want to say it's what I believe or that there's no good men.
No I don't lol
Anyway, this poll tells a lot... Nothing else to add.
Asker, let me tell you something about statistics especially using polls. The polls are ONLY going to tell you the changing variables that aren't always consistent. Especially if you already have a False Consensus bias which is exactly what you have. So no matter what I or anybody else say you going to believe what you want because you're already have that bias. If you expect to get the real answer you must accept the fact that you can be worn with certain things. And what you all wrong with certain things you must be willing and open to change and refined your opinion and belief. It does not mean you have to accept it as a principal in your life. It does not mean you have to apply it in your life if you don't want to. But that in those kind of situations you cannot expect to get one answer over the other. Especially if you already lacking experience in those areas.

I have seen good men and I have seen plenty of bad ones. But it all depends on what perception you choose to adapt. For not your version of a good man is everybody's version of a good man. Just like not everybody's version of a bad man is not your version of a bad man. It's just the way how life is.
I wasn't talking based on my own personal experience with them but what I've seen or what I've been told.
yeah... kind of.
Partially because they know how men really think, but not only that. I mean, I've only seen or heard of fathers acting protective of their daughters in such a way when they were part of a culture in which there is a large amount of value seen in 'saving' women's virginity for their husbands.
Most fathers are that way...

Absolutely. No question.
it's the same reason we don't "trust" you to hang out with other guys - it's not that we don't trust YOU - we don't trust THEM, because we know exactly how they think and how they are. They're GUYS. We know what it means to be a guy.
I think it depend on the country in my country most father aren't overprotective of their daughter at all. They let their daughter boyfriend sleep in her bedroom with door closed and don't worry about it or anything.
And what country is this? It's definitely not an Asian country.
@BloodSweatandTears1 France
It's a lot like all those closeted, homophobic, "family values" preachers who wind up getting caught with gay hookers and meth. The fathers who are most defensive of their daughters are those who have had the most trouble coming to terms with their own sexuality, and that's unequivocally a product of culture!
In the US, for example, male sexuality is villified and trivialized on a level many of us aren't even conscious of. While it's true that on the surface women get chastised for keeping their guard down (e. g. slut-shaming), the much stronger underlying prejudice is toward male sexuality as some sort of inevitable evil. It's hard to even imagine a highly sexually active male in American society without associating it with sexual deviance or major social influence enabling them to take advantage of those subordinate to or dependent on him.
Lol
I think it's just your personal experience. I'm French and I've never seen such things being widely accepted ๐.
@DonCachondo Yet most guys seem to admit to being pervy so...
@Asker Maybe privately when they feel comfortable enough to whoever they're talking to (just like girls), but most wouldn't broadcast it publicly. Many are easily shamed for it.
@DonCachondo Whatever... They do know what they are lol.
@DonCachondo Surely, here we aren't shamed or anything in general, people even talk about sex at their work (both men and women alike).
Me? No, I'm not.
I don't believe it. I would have to see it to believe that father's in France let their daughters sleep with their boyfriends in their (fathers') own house.
@BloodSweatandTears1 I don't know bro France is super nonchalant about sex
@BloodSweatandTears1 They do, why wouldn't they let them do it? At least at home they're safe, it's clean and there's a warm bed, much better than sleeping I don't know where, with no protection and nothing. At least teen don't get pregnant in France unlike America this just proves French father have better attitude concerning their daughter than American do.
@BloodSweatandTears1 And my father always let my sister boyfriend sleep in her bed and let them in the room closed all day without worrying about it or bothering them.
And when I was in high school it was the same the father always let their daughter boyfriend sleep in their daughter bedroom. Parents must be pretty dumb not let their child do it.
It's more of a cultural thing. My dad's from Cuba and instead of gatekeeping for my sister, he made her start using birth control when she turned 16. Even seeing men as "perverted" for pursuing physical intimacy is largely a product of Americans' Puritanical bias.
I don't know my dad was never over protective of me but I never gave my parents a reason not to trust me
Yes, as a parent two little girls and one who's going to be here any day now, I can say it's exactly that reason.
a father want's his daughter to be pure and beautiful with a whole heart... never broken... cuz if a guy is willing to wait a while, he may be worth his salt
No it's because they sense danger in males, grill for potential suitor
If I ever have a daughter I am going to make an extreme effort not to be this way.
To protect her from guys like you, yeah.
I don't get it. What kind of guy am I?
A guy
The female is likely more perverted than the male the father is trying to protect.
Oh wow someone finally connected the dots
Well, this isn't a nice truth concerning men though ๐
Sure. But you don't mind doing it do other women though... So predictable ๐
Yeah yeah... Jeez guys love to pretend they're emotional lol
But you agreed with what I said...
Yeah we know how we thought
Yes. That's a huge factor.
Yes.
one word dear PREGNANT
Yup.
For sure
