Do guys friendzone only ugly girls?

I mean girls they personally don't find attractive enough.

The reason I'm asking is because I think I'm not ugly, I'd say I'm above average. But a guy I like friendzoned me and is insisting on really being friends (he keeps inviting me to hangout). He said I'm a really cool person.
So if it's not my personality, then it must be my looks, right?

Not necessarily, I have some guy friends who have friend-zoned girls just because their personalities didn't mesh well, or they weren't necessarily what they were looking for in a significant other, or that they just couldn't see that person as anything more than a friend (this usually is due to them having long term friendships). The most frequent I've seen when the girl is cool and attractive is usually that the guy is already working on/interested in getting with a different girl and so he's pushing all other girls to the side for the time being, or he's just not interested in any kind of relationship at the moment. There are a lot of different reasons for someone to friendzone someone else. Don't tear yourself down because someone doesn't want to be with you (for whatever reason) because you don't know what's going on in there mind.
Sorry, you're dealing with this, I know it sucks to be friend-zoned for apparently no reason (I know from experience) but just know you'll find someone else who's ready to love you as much as you want to love them.

Despite what some women think, men don't choose partners based ever solely on looks. Most of them will not hang out with a person if they don't also like their personality. It's just not worth the effort.

There is no right answer when it comes to saying goodbye to someone, telling them what it was about them that they didn't like. He's letting you down easy, or at least trying to. Best not to push it. Everyone wants to know, but few people really can hear the real answer.

studies show that most guys are more likely to "date down". when it comes to attractiveness and/or age. while physically looks do play a role. a enjoyable personality and attitude also matter. plus most guys don't care what type of job a person has. so long as their is self sufficient and wise with their spending.

One understands that there is no such thing as the friendzone. Your either friends or your not. Two, nobody should just reject you just because of your unattractive. There are usually other factors that say your not compatible like beliefs, character traits, family background, etc. Three, if this person despite his 'friendly' attempts is making you feel like crap and worse about yourself, should you try dating somebody like that anyway, let alone keep as a friend? I say distance yourself a bit if you want to continue a friendship so you can move on and be with other guys.

It's best to respect his choices. But if you knew you were interested in that way, it would have been best to say this from day 1. Not months and years later. I don't really friend zone girls unless it's for personality reasons. I friend zone women who try a little too hard to be cool, and ones who have different values from me. I don't friend zone girls who bore me though... I simply don't talk with them.

No. He is not manipulating her, he is very clear that he doesn't want to date her. She has to understand that he is free to make up his rules and mind about who and what type of person he wants to date. We need to stop making out physical attraction is the say all be all. Her insecurities are enough to the sad turnoff, anyone, due to the fact that one isn't always assertive or set boundaries with people.
