Do you care about a guy's "social status"?

I've been reading recently that "social status is one thing women look in a man but I don't understand exactly how women define that ?

I simply don't care about it because the measure I use for a man its not the entities created by society and its rules of classifying people. A place where I can work and like what I do is what makes me happy. Of course some education is included.

I wonder if not caring about social status would let women have a relationship with me ?

yeah of course want social status, it's like at the same level as us wanting girls who are hot. also like the other kid said, hotter girls want more social status.

you have to do your best to be at the top because that's where the girls are looking. let me give you an example. I am not a bad looking guy at all but on my first day of class I saw pretty much no girl check me out or show me interest in one way or the other. then when I had to introduce myself at the start of the class, I did a good job at making everyone laugh and I was seen as "the funny guy". from then on everyone was trying to talk to me and any time I made eye contact with a girl in the class she would give me a big flirty smile.

i would have just been another face in the crowd if I didn't prove how I can work the social masses. girls want some form of a leader and that worked. this is why you see fat old CEO's get hot young girls

I think a girl just wants to make sure you have... you know, a life. Being social and having friends is a strong plus, not just in the girls mind, but for you too.

In the sense that I want my potential mate to be sociable and have a circle of friends that I can see myself getting along with, yes I care. I also don't want him associating with a bunch of loser/bum types, obviously.

so what is that social status you are talking about ? Money?! belonging to a royal family ?! or others?

he's popular or just very outgoing, very social and talkative, he is seen or viewed as "the Leader of his group of friends and acquaintences, his position in society, his occupation"
