Why is he Still texting me after I’ve decided to ignore his texts?

I was talking to a guy who did not want something serious. Once he told me I told him I didn’t want to drag it on any more, but he kept texting and of course I would give in and answer. After I kept hurting my own feelings by allowing him to still be in my life on his terms I figured ghosting him will more so get the point across. So he text me a few times with the last text being “are you alive or nah?”. None of them did I reply to. I thought that would be the last one because no way would I keep texting a man more then once without a response back unless we we’re committed. Anyway I wake up this morning to a picture of his new tattoo and a text saying “finished my chest piece” which I knew he was getting done since the first time me and him talked. I also can’t imagine myself sending a guy a picture of anything I did in my life after being ignored. I would have chalked it up as a loss and try to not think about him. He has also been blocked on Snapchat and Facebook, which I’m sure he is aware. I haven’t blocked him on iMessage yet but I guess that would be the best thing to do. I just would love some other’s perspectives of why he would try to keep reaching out while not getting any response from me. He’s a good looking, successful man who definitely has his choice of whatever woman he wants so in my mind I just wonder if maybe his ego is bothered etc...
