At what age do guys stop caring so much about sex or a girl's looks and starts caring about something as important as their intelligence or career?

I'm 21. I've only had one boyfriend in my life (when I was 19). He dumped me for the reason that I was too good for him as he said he is shy and insecure and I'm not. Guys don't notice me in college as I dress in a classy way. I don't like wearing clothes that are too over-revealing as girls do here on campus (that is their choice, so I don't disapprove a person for how they want to dress). Guys go for girls that dress like that though and have this awful attitude towards everyone, wears a lot of makeup to where they look like an entirely different person (nothing wrong with a person wanting to wear makeup though as that is their choice, so again, I don't disapprove any woman for that), and ends up cheating or breaking up with the dude after 2 months. Guys here also go for women who would offer endless sex to any guy and have a relationship with her for only that reason.

I don't wear makeup for the reason that I don't feel like myself then (however my friends say I'm naturally pretty and so I can get away with not wearing makeup). I don't like the idea of being in a relationship only for sex.

Today during one of my classes, my professor asked me to answer a question about something we were learning about for the day. I gave a good answer even though the question really had no specific answer, and this dude just chimes in and tells me, "no that's stupid, its (his answer)". And started laughing. One of my friends in my class told me, "Don't let him bother you, he's always like that"

At what age do guys stop caring so much about sex or a girl's looks and start caring about something as important as a woman's intelligence or career as far as wanting to date a girl because of those qualities and not just because how they dress or only date them for sex only?

No age. Because age has nothing to do with those things. There's nothing wrong with a person liking the idea of sex but it's about what they choose to do with it. But I do understand what you were talking about. It all depends on who you are talking about. Guys are not going to stop just because of age. Some only stopped by personal experience, revelation, or they will never that type of person to begin with. If you don't want to be with a person that has all that stuff going on, then you have to be who you also wish to attract. There are plenty of guys that are highly mature and don't do those things. Some have always been around you but 9/10 times you're not really attracted to those men.

Okay... firstly, not all guys go for those girls who dress provacatively... there are some of us... even college aged who prefer the dressed up, or dressed down girls. It's how you carry yourself is what is attractive. We all prefer different things, so no need to compare yourself. You do you.

As for your actual question... there is no age. Men are stupid (yes I realize I am putting my own kind down.) But it's a general statement. There are of course anomolies to the rule, but college aged... most fit that bill. If you want an age.. probably 30s on the low end or after a significant heartbreak event.

Don't sell yourself short though, even in your age range there are men, who do notice you for how you carry yourself. And for the 'dude' who said your answer was stupid? Next time, tell him "Thanks for the advice, but what I really need are minions." Head up. Shine your light!

I can't really speak for older guys properly, but I believe never. Sex is always super important to guys as it's something always in the back of our mind. Thank biology for that one.

Career... Pretty sure the only guys who care are either gold diggers or want to protect their own wallet. Sure, having a girlfriend with a prestigious career is a confidence booster as well as a bragging point but it's hardly going to influence my attraction to her. If anything, it's how hard she works and the effort/care she puts into her job.

Intelligence... Lol. I don't know when the last time I had a conversation with a woman whose intelligence I respected was. Educated... maybe, but intelligent? No.

And this really isn't to say the only thing that matters are looks. There are many personality factors that go into making a woman attractive.

Those guys exist at every age. You just have to find them. And honestly, you might have to make the first move, intelligent women are more scary to approach.

Usually that's going to be around age 25. Up until then our testosterone levels and sex drive are so high that we literally have to resist our compulsion to fuck every girl we see. Usually once we hit age 25 or so our testosterone levels finally start to even out and we can think a little bit more logically than we could before. Please keep in mind that doesn't mean that we want a career marriage to a woman that has a good career, and a high IQ with no sex life. Sex will always be important to men, at least until they reach age 40 or so, and even then it's still kind of important. The only difference is that between age 25 and 40 sex becomes a determining factor rather than just thee determining factor.

Realistically, never. Men are visual animals. If he is physically attracted to you, then your intelligence and mannerisms, etc matter. Otherwise, they don't matter. Also, your degree and job typically never matter because you're not there to take care of a man financially, we know that as much as you do.

Sex is always important; however for some of us we are willing to wait for it. Because it is important and shouldn't be given out like beads at Mardi Gras. You should look for guys that are willing to wait. We care about your personality; because we want love between our sexual partners.
