Evolution. You didn't think it ended at the neck, did you? We're drawn to women who look capable of having many children who survive to themselves reproduce. Humans are essentially born while still in the fetus stage; compare how helpless human babies are with those of even our closest relatives. A baby chimp is MUCH more capable than a baby human. But our skulls are so big (to contain our giant brains) that if we reached that stage of development before birth, our mothers wouldn't survive the process- and, odds are, neither would we. Wider hips are a sign of skeletal structure more likely to survive childbirth (there may be other factors at play there, too, but that's the big one.
A wider chest can more easily support bigger breasts, and the advantage there is twofold: first, it creates the illusion that she'll provide more milk and better be able to breastfeed (it doesn't actually work that way, but remember that evolution's a tinkerer, not an engineer), and (supposedly- this theory is a bit more dubious) large breasts suggest buttocks, a stronger sexual signal for our ancestors who didn't have sex face-to-face. Note how the breasts of even the other great apes only enlarge when they're lactating.
"Okay then," I hear you say, "but how does the narrower waist help?" It doesn't, in and of itself. Its only real function is to make the hips and chest look bigger. In every sexually dimorphic species, more pronounced secondary sexual traits are seen as a plus in the mate-attracting game, and it's important to remember that humans are no different.

Because women with the waist circumference being about 70% of the hip circumference are the most fertile ones.
Guys who chose them always had an advantage in having more children and that preference has thus been given to the next generations with a higher percentage so that now most of the human males prefer hourglass bodies.
It highlights curves better, but I also think biologically men view the distinct hips as more ideal to bear children and that is a turn on that's been engrained from evolution
Men are genetically programmed to desire fertile woman so they can pass on their genes to healthy baby carriers

I think it's biological. Wide hips and big breasts mean healthy kids. This is in a guys mind the same way a man full of muscules means he is a protector.
You have to take this back to animal mating. How do animals choose and find a mate? What are they looking for?
If you can study that it gives an interesting insight on how we attact and mate as humans.
It sounds crazy but if you look at it, it's pretty interesting...People just like what they like, but I'd say it's like the best of everything to them, like big boobs, big butt whilst still being slim or can be anyway.
It is a biological response. A woman with the hourglass figure is at her healthiest and strongest.
Uhh... because it's the most attractive and aesthetically pleasing. You might as well ask why people like flowers... because they're pretty. Duh.
I don't like hourglass, I prefer inverted triangle body shape:
Because guys don't have hourglass bodies. It's unique to women.
We are biologically programmed to. It means as a general rule of thumb that they can produce offspring.
I have no idea, it's definitely not my favorite, I've seen girls with much more attractive body shapes.
Its healthy and the curves are hot
It’s attractive that’s why lol
Big human infants with humongous skulls
