Why are white men attracted mainly just to skinny women? I'm black, for what it's worth. When black or Hispanic men describe a "curvy" or "thick" woman, they mean something like the first two women here. But white guys are mostly attracted to the second type of ladies, here. Why is that? And don't tell me "health is a good factor of child-birthing" nonsense, because if anything, that'd mean you like the thicker women more.
Also, when white men try to call a woman "curvy," it's laughable BS and they usually just mean "slightly less skinny to average." Like, "skinny" would be a 5'9", 118 pound woman, and "curvy" to them would be a 5'9", 135 pound woman.

Best answer I've gotten on here has to do with socioeconomics. As in, white men tend to be the richest, thus will go after model-like women (skinny) who can afford to look the way they do. Where as other races aren't as wealthy, thus are attracted to women who look well-fed (thick) and could produce better healthier children. Likewise, wealthy black men tend to prefer skinny women too and poorer white men tend to prefer thick women. I'd say, I can agree with that explanation.
Why are white men mostly only attracted to skinny women?
It’s a little bit “what you’re used to” and what you grew up around and in your adolescent brain what “women” look like. Most of the women in my family growing up were over 5’7” and under 115 lbs. no doubt that influenced what in my mind “feminine women” look like.
as for why there’s a difference, I think some of this ends up mixing race with income. Multiple studies have shown that there’s some link between income and how thin men on average prefer women to be. This even held up when they looked at men who immigrated from poorer countries then had their incomes rise over time in their new country.
slim women gave higher fertility than the women you pictures. They have weights high enough that they are actually a little less fertile.
on the other hand, in any kind of food shortage scenario they’d be much more likely to carry a child to term successfully.
that dichotomy is likely why it seems men who - no matter how well fed they are - feel like resources are constrained seem to prefer thicker women while men with a lot of resources (who probably aren’t worried about resource shortages in the future) prefer the “healthier looking right now” look of a more athletic or slim build.
of course those preferences drift slowly with individuals but reinforced by your broader culture. If you grow up looking primarily at rap videos, around thicker women, and men highlighting thick women as hot, that’s going to reinforce your preferences (or even push the other way if you personally are wealthier).
if you grow up with a natural inclination for slimmer, combined with being around slimmer women and among people who would view those upper bodies as fat, that gets reinforced.
Thank you. Most of this makes sense, but I disagree with the "influences" thing, because 1) I grew up with "average" (or, "fat" if you ask white men) women as my neighbors and teachers. And 2) it's implying sexuality is a learned behavior and not natural. I didn't "choose" to like the thickness; I just do! Especially considering they were rare where I grew up.
Also, I forgot to mention a third point: 200-400 years ago, European men preferred "Reubenesque" women, as depicted in Renaissance art, and they were all literally as white as can be. And also, wealthy by global standards.

I think it’s fairly clear that our sexual preferences involve some interplay between our ideas and our impulses. For instance I’ve seen studies where women rate men as more attractive when they’re simply standing -near- an expensive car. Women didn’t evolve to find a Ferrari hot. But they did evolve to find powerful men attractive. So the part of their brain that knows a Ferrari is expensive is feeding that information to the part that decides what’s hot.
I think pretty similarly people’s intellectual ideas about what’s “healthy” feedback into what they find hot.

To answer your question, I think the reason why many white men prefer skinny women would most likely be due to forced consumption of eurocentric beauty standards from the media.
I think that a lot of people base their standards on the kinds of people they can realistically get.
Those richer guys are in general more attractive. They can attract more attractive women, who tend to be of a healthy weight.
Those poorer guys you mention are in general less attractive. They can only attracted less attractive women, who tend to be overweight. But for these guys to admit that would be a blow to their ego and if their girlfriend/potential girlfriend found out, they'd be screwed. Therefore they rationalise it all away and bullshit everybody including themselves, pretending that it's a preference.
You're talking nonsense. Those women you posted aren't thick, they're overweight, perhaps even obese. A sign of bad health, not good health. They wouldn't give birth to healthy children.
You spoke in response to a girl down below who posted a picture of Kelly Brook, and you mistook her for Ashley Graham. You mentioned that Ashley Graham is 5'8" and 200lbs. That she'd be considered "fat" and "unhealthy", which you put in quotation marks as if that's a dumb idea. At that height and weight, not only would white people consider her overweight, medical professionals would consider her to be obese. She has a BMI of 30.

I am baffled that you could possibly prefer the first two to the last! Pretty refreshing if you do though. I am also pale as a snowflake and happy to acknowledge my preference is as accused. As for where it stems from I would imagine that our culture has more of a classical beauty (slim, slender, elegant) sort of ideal. The existence of this being of course historical and due to media.
While bust size is not important to me I would likely choose a C cup over a D cup. More of a balance to the figure rather than a more is better mentality.

Well, yeah, that's my whole point. White men like super-skinny women that are usually under 140 lbs, and black and Hispanic men like Thick (not "fat," even though white men like to call them that, anyway) women. The only thing that annoys me is when white men imply we aren't "allowed" to like thick women, just because they don't and usually call them "fat." I hate that, and I'm a man. I can't imagine how women feel about it.
A lot of the curvier women that I've met tend to act a little bit too ghetto for my tastes. I know that any build of woman can act ghetto, but it just seems more common from curvy women. I also see it happen with women who are dating black men for some reason, which makes me uncomfortable.

It just mainly comes down to preferences every single man has different tastes some may like thin women some may like thick women it just comes down to what they’re into or what they’re idea of attractive is. I actually am naturally thin I have never gone past 113lbs but I am 5’3 so I guess that’s not a bad weight frame for me but I am also very unhappy with my breast size I am a 32B and I have thought on getting them done. Believe it or not that’s the trend today thick women who are very busty.

Look the correlation of body fat and "bone structure" among etnicities. I'll say this in the best and respectful way possible. I've seen women who are "european" or white in their features carry weight worstly than darker women, if they are both a bit overweight. Its not the same to look overweight keeping proportions. Than being overweight and looking out of structure.
Nah, it's only white men, like I said. Asian men tend to have no preference towards body type, but most Asian women are skinny by default (though many women here in Seoul are thick/plus-sized, now that that's a thing on Instagram). I'd say, maybe Indian women care a lot about that too, perhaps.
I get annoyed when dudes assume every other guy is supposed to think like them. Like, I get white men are the majority in the US, and Western world, but not everyone wants a size two twig.

I'm not making it political. I am American too, and this just seems to be how it is. The people you know seem to be an exception, cause most black and Hispanic men in general are into plus-sized women. Like I said, only white (and possibly Indian) men primarily go for skinny women. And it's only a bit annoying because they like to speak "for all men" by projecting their standards onto everyone. I am all for people liking whatever they like, but just because most white men prefer skinny women doesn't mean everyone does. Technically speaking, they'd be in the minority. They just have the most influence in the Western world, hence "European beauty standards."
