Why does it seem that guys, more specifically white guys, want skinny curveless girls?

Yes I'm bigger. I am 5'7 and a size 18 with 38DD. I get hit on by black guys all the time but I don't date black guys, I'm not racist it just a preference not to. I am white myself. I have been with guys for both relationships and then just for hookups. But now that I am single again I am having a hard time finding a guy that is okay with a bigger girl. I'm not gross and I'm actually very active and workout everyday and watch what I eat. I have an under active thyroid that my doctor and I are trying to sort out but why don't guys seem to like thicker women?

I always get the comments like I have nice t*ts, or a pretty face, or I'm really fun and nice. But they don't seem to interested in me in a relationship kinda way.

I will say that in my area I see lots of guys with bigger girls. It's a bit of the norm where I'm from, but in general I know that's not the case. I've wondered about this question myself and a few months ago I came across an article that kind of explained it. Basically, whether we realize it or not, a lot of us are seeking a partner that we not only appreciate, but society holds in high esteem also. For black guys, having a pretty girl with a sexy, curvy figure is the ultimate. Not only do black guys admire this type of figure, but typically their culture will reinforce that appreciation. Their culture will then (possibly subconsciously)look at the guy more favourably because his ability to get someone they consider so attractive. So guys are not only working to get a girl they find attractive, but also someone the general population will find attractive.

For white guys...I think a lot of times in this culture the mindset of the general white population is that the thinner, the better. I think a lot of this comes from the media and the fashion industry. I think sometimes white guys may not even be AS attracted to it, but on some subconscious level we've been "brainwashed"(I use the term loosely) to believe that skinniness is the ultimate in beauty. Therefore, whereas, black guys are considered to have the ultimate female if she is "thick" ...white guys are considered to have the ultimate female if she is thin.

Each culture reinforces those ideas through music, media, etc.

This is why you see so much about closeted "chubby chasers" in the white community. They are embarrassed about what there friends/society might think of them if they don't have a girlfriend that fits the right image for their culture.

yeah this is great. I would also think the food we eat plays a huge role into this as well. for my white family the subject of diet is very much talked about. I believe it takes a lot more will power to eat healthier foods and stay fit so it is highly desirable to me. however, some of my black friends tend to talk more about the deliciousness of the food. They are pleased to know your understanding of what tastes good and it appeals to them. I know it sounds general, but that's just what I see.

I read that white men have a preference for smaller built women. Not sure how incredibly accurate that is, but from that article and experience, it seems that way. I've seen maybe four white guys in 19 years of life, with a bigger woman. I'm sure there are more out there who are into the BBW, just haven't seen many. You are getting at something though, I'm built petite and I'm a black girl; I get hit on occasionally by black men, but the most guys who have ever hit on me have been white. I say things like my ass is so small, and they declare I have the biggest sexiest ass in the world lol. Seriously I'm like a size 3. It's baffling and I wonder why it seems to have worked out that way?

I think men of all races prefer curvy girls. Keep in mind that skinny girls CAN be curvy and bigger girls can be curveless (actually I see more curveless/boxy heavy girls than curvy heavy girls). There are MANY guys that like bigger women. Many of the men that are close to me like big girls with cute faces. Are you attracted to guys who are as big as you/bigger than you? Or are you attracted to guys with a more lean body type? I think you may have better luck with bigger guys (not to say that there aren't skinny or athletic guys that like a bigger woman, because I know of those too).

I definitely would never say damn girl nice ass or you have a really nice body... Shallow Hal was my favorite movie of all times, but I mean everyone laughed at his sincerity and as a guy I want to be sincere so I mean... it makes it a little hard when all I think about are physical aspects. If a guy can compliment you on your ability to decipher the platonic eccentricities of all your girl friends past relationships than all the power to him. It's rare, that's all I'm saying.

The fact is I'm white I'm 160lbs and 6'1 and I'm working hard to stay solid built and make my way to around 175lbs.. With this being said I'm looking for a girl between 5'4 - 5'10 and I figure I should be able to pick her up at the least and I hope that she weighs less than me when I meet her. Over the course of our relationship I expect to have at least one or 2 kids and I know woman tend to gain weight during pregnancy.

If there was some sort of scientist out there saying women lose weight during pregnancy or telling me as we age weight comes off. I would be twice as receptive to dating a bigger woman, but the way I see it -- she's big now, but she will most likely be bigger down the road. I don't want to deal with the consequences. I want to live as happily ever after as after can be and the route best ingrained in my mind starts with a petite young lady who I assume will gain weight!

I don't even want to think about a real relationship with a thicker woman. It could happen and I'm not saying it's impossible for me or any other guy, but I don't even want to think about it right now

Well one thing I tend to notice, the guys who are in it for sex or whatever leave those comments like you said (nice t*ts, pretty face, what's up sexi?, etc) and then other guys are discouraged to try and get involved.

If you can, don't be afraid to remove comments you don't appreciate, think are obnoxious, or are just straight up perverted.

As for finding a guy, the guys worth finding take time to find. There're billions of people on the planet, who knows how many you'll like at all let alone be willing to date. Just keep looking and if you don't think the guy is committed, don't spend any more time with him in a relationship

Its generally cuture and influence, I'm sure peer pressure to abide by the stereotypical ideology of what you're supposed to be attracted to. I personally like a little thickness in the right areas along with hips and thick thighs. I generally am not that turned on at all if a girl has no meat on her.

Basically I like girls who can carry their weight that aren't sticks

Slight girls just seem to be the thing lately. They attract me, but curves do too. I do prefer skinny girls- maybe because I'm a runner? My best guess is that slender girls seem frail, making the guys feel extra powerful. You might be slightly intimidating. But, plenty of guys have different tastes.

Well, way back when...fat girls were considered attractive... But I believe in the mid-late 1900's, curves were appreciated. Marilyn Monroe was quite the sex symbol, and I believe she was curvy.

I'm not sure how her use of adjectives such a "skinny" and "curveless" could be taken with offence. Those are just descriptive terms for a body type. They can't be any more offensive than the adjectives she used to describe herself, such as, "thicker" or "bigger". She attached no negative sentiment to the adjectives either. if anything she was more negative about her own body type.
