Yeah, you're going to have to be more specific here. Personally, I know a lot of guys who are willing to date and sleep with women who have an average physique of even curvy. Now when they are obese is where I see a large drop admittedly. Men have always been attracted to physically beautiful women, a lot of the time that means a woman who is relatively thin or even average and sometimes curvier, its a sign of physical health on a primal level and unfortunately being obese doesn't have the same effect whether we like it or not. However, this does not mean that a woman who is overweight can't find a partner it just makes it harder really. Other than that I really can't say.

In general is probably too general. The question you mean to ask is some. Unless you have some statistical findings to show otherwise lol. So to answer the question as to why do people like what they like. Who knows? It's impossible to answer. There is no explanation that anyone can give that is not just an opinion.

Fyi I have many white friends who don't agree with this as a general statement for white men.

It feels like it's every skin color.

Society told men that skinny is ideal, and society told women that being skinny, tall, and with perky breasts is ideal.

The standard of perfectly skinny women is practically shoved down our throats.

It depends where you're from. We have Mexicans and black guys here in South Carolina, most prefer skinny women. Either their own nationality or a skinny white woman.

Well, it's a ridiculous standard.. Even when you're a healthy BMI, I've still been told by people that I could stand losing more weight

I think very thin is not that attractive. I prefer full body/curves, just so far as woman's body is concerned.

Probably because of having eurocentric beauty standards drilled into our heads for so long.

That being said, I'm white and I prefer women who are thicker/curvier.

For the same reason women are obsessed with tall men. It's just preferences. Just be happy that all you have to do to get thin is put the fork down and hit the treadmill. For a short guy it isn't so easy.

I never said you should. As long as a person takes care of themselves they should just be happy with the way they are. You're perfect in God's eyes. You just asked the question why the obsession. Because beauty is subjective. If it weren't society wouldn't have supermodels that society holds up as ideals to be aspired to.
