Why do men only like skinny women?

I went to secondary grammar school I was very thin because my mum didn't feed me. She divorced and didn't have any jobs, and she spent our money on smoking and taking medicine (she had a nervous breakdown). My stomach hurt so much from emptiness. Yet... there weren't guys around me. Later I met my husband, he was goodlooking for me I was pretty for him. But you know: we have been together for 17 years. I am 37, he is 40. Both of us have changed because we are getting old. I put on some weights, I am curvy now (not too much, because I have eating problems, like I can only eat lactose and gluten free foods plus I am a vegetarian) but our sex life is much better and he always says how pretty and beautiful I am, he loves grabbing me all over when we have sex and says my boobs grew a lot because when we met I was thin, and my boobs were tiny. I am not skinny anymore but I am not that big overweighted type either. Somewhere middle. Men often look the face first. A smile can be very attractive for a man, or a good sense of humour or anything. We, women are the ones who think that appearance is everything but men think differently.

Who we (men and women) put up pics of, a look up on the net and celebs we hush about, and who we actually date are different.

I mean, I don’t usually google “average Dad bod with thinning hair” - but I’d totally date a cute guy I got alone with who looks like that. Same for guys.

It seems like that, but it isn't actually true. There are plenty of men who like women for who they are, not what they look like, and plenty of men who love a little meat on the bones. Rock what you have.

It's not only liking skinny women, it's all about preference. I know plenty of guys who find thicker women attractive. I, myself, prefer petite women, not necessarily just skinny. If you were to put a skinny girl with big boobs and a round butt next to a slightly heavier girl with small boobs and butt, I'd probably chase the slightly heavier girl because she's petite. No guy is the same, but to say all men like skinny women is a gross oversimplification. And I wouldn't even go so far to say most men like skinny women. Society as it is tries to glorify skinny women, shows men chasing said women, and looks down on obesity. I think you're getting your skewed image of men from that. There are plenty of fish in the sea.

You are over generalizing - I am a man and I do not like skinny women at all!
So here is what I like - with the order of preference -
First and foremost the woman should be intelligent and should be interested in me and my life.
Second she should be fit (unhealthy lazy people are a turn off for me)
Third she is not materialistic
Fourth she is as natural as she can be - I don't like someone who puts on dabs of makeup.
Thats about it! - That's all what I want in my girl!

They don't. I'm "fat", and I have a wonderful handsome and sexy man. You're just choosing the wrong men for yourself. Here's a tip: Don't go looking for a specific type, be open to something new. If you're looking for love, you're going to overlook anyone that doesn't fit the physical description in your head. That was my problem. The men who looked like what I wanted, had personalites that weren't compatible with mine.

Most people base what they like off what they see. In America there has been a large push for women to be skinnier in Japan and China where those people were already skinny they got thinner on account of trying to be like an American girl. However you'll find that if you date outside one race each race also has its own preferences.

This ain't true. Guys like women every which way. Girls that r skinnier r like guys that r skinnier. U tend to c them as keeping themselves in shape and as maintaining themselves which is an attractive quality

I'd date a bigger woman, I just wouldn't date an overweight or obsese one. I don't want to be a widow at 40, if i marry at 30.

When you're overweight or obese, you are putting a lot of stress on your heart, and other major organs, and if you keep doing what you're doing, you will be dead, a lot sooner. I'm just stating facts here

I like women with less fat. They don’t need to be skinny but a gut, fat arms or love handles is just gross. Dudes that claim they like thick women as in fat are just lying to themselves cause they can’t get fit/thin women.
