Of all of the guys I've been attracted to, I've noticed that a good portion of them have actually been slim and usually under 6' tall. I am 5'7" and while I definitely don't mind a taller guy, I do find that it's easier to talk face to face with someone around the same general height as myself rather than having to look way up or way down. It's not a huge deal, but it's nice. I don't really care about a guy being super built. In shape is good, but I'm not into the bodybuilder look, myself. I'm completely fine with slim body types and average builds.

I have noticed that there seem to be a lot of tall girls anymore. When I was in high school, I was insecure about my height because there were tons of girls in the 5'0"-5'4" range, but now out in public, I feel much more average in height and see quite a few girls taller than me.

Women don't care if you can actually fight or if you're actually tough, what they care about is that you LOOK the part.
This is why women don't make any money betting on boxing or MMA, they always think the tallest or most muscular guy will win. Women have really weird ideas about fighting and martial arts. They see a guy who's tall and they think, "Oh, he must be the best fighter, he looks so dominant."
Any guy who has any actual martial arts experience knows that there's always dudes way bigger than you who are slow, clumsy, and timid, and there's dudes way smaller than you who can ragdoll your ass. AND vice versa. You can never tell by looking how a guy moves and whether he can take a punch or give one, for that matter.
My girlfriend prefers skinny guys, but I'm not short by any measure. I think the issue you have isn't "you're skinny", it's "you're short". The thing girls are after is a guy who they perceive as capable to defend her and her children against the overwhelming majority of threats that may come along at any point in time. Guys who are tall are automatically perceived as strong, even if they're not compared to other guys. Conversely, guys who are close in height to or shorter than the girl are perceived to be "roughly of similar physical utility as the girl herself", even though an average dude who's 5' is far stronger than an average girl at 5'. Girls aren't into that as much, however if a guy is 5' and jacked the girl won't focus as much on his height because his apparent muscle mass screams "able to deal with whatever comes his way" and there's no physical comparison made to the girl (in the girls mind) because she's not that jacked and comparing the two is plainly silly. That's the plot summary of what you're dealing with here.

Ok so this can be based on different reasons.
#1 Some girls are not slim so the idea of being with a slim guy does strike fear because there will be people that will wonder why someone with "her body" would date him. So they will feel insecure and don't want that type of negativity in their life.
#2 Its all based on preference. Most guys have a specific type of girl they go for (excludes personality). Every person has an image of their future partner and its not something that we can control.
#3 As for the height difference, i am tall for my age and do pass the average height of a girl. I do not want someone shorter than me but i don't mind if we are the same height or the guy is a few centimetres shorter. There is nothing wrong with short guys, its just that i do not like the idea of bending down to hug or kiss a guy when we are both standing. That's just how i have become as a person so I can't change it.

Because strength is everything. Well, ok, 70%, so not exactly EVERYTHING. But you can't go wrong with being strong. Even when all they can see is men's faces, women will consistently pick the strongest men as the most attractive.
And that's true even among the women who say they don't like muscular men. My personal opinion is that when you say "muscular", women automatically think "roided out bodybuilder" rather than a hard working natural man. I could be wrong, though.

He does have muscles. I'm similar to him when I'm moderately working out. Since I haven't been working out due to a shoulder thing, I realize how much muscle I had an old photos compared to now but I still considered myself skinny then. We all have different interpretations of the word I guess. Some people think of skinny as anorexic looking. I think both are skinny personally lol.
