Little backstory to that question before anyone gets mad:

So, I always desired to be small and skinny. I was indeed naturally skinny until I hit 12. Now I'm 18 and am pretty fleshy, jiggly and not skinny. And my wide rectangle, almost apple body shape isn't helping. I've seen plenty of other girls who are heavier than me but are skinnier, although they're the same height or even shorter. when I'm with my friends they always get attention around guys. I once wore a dress with a bunch of makeup and my friends wore pretty dresses with little to almost no makeup and I looked like an actual clown next to them. I am not trying to say I want a guy immediately, I am still not ready for a relationship, but I feel like other girls are being treated worthier by guys (or by any gender) because of their looks. I always get bitchy looks by guys. They always say they like skinny and petites. But me? no one ever says how skinny I am, until I'm extremely underweight. I am pretty cursed when it comes to such things, but I wrote all that because I don't want to sound so random when asking that question.

So, please be honest with your answers. I don't want any "There are guys out there who like chubbier women". Please be honest. What do you find about skinny women so attractive? I find them pretty as a woman because they look small and being small is pretty. What about men though?

I think a woman should be height, weight proportional. Check the insurance charts and use them to gauge how close to or far off you are from "ideal" weight.

And IDEAL means the weight that guarantees the longest life span, barring any other illnesses or diseases.

Some people are heavier than ideal because they are more muscular than most. But if you are just fatter because you hit puberty, then it sounds like you might need to exercise to get rid of excess fat.

Skinny is never attractive, in my opinion. If you're too thin, your period will stop, you won't have proper energy to do physical tasks. And the chubby stuff, that's a fetish.

Also, look at the women in your family. And the men. Are they all thin? All normal weight? All fat? And look at your grandparents. That tells you a lot about your genetics. But it also tells you about people's eating habits.

Are you eating out a lot? Eating a lot of processed foods? Do you never cook fresh foods, shop at your farmer's markets?

If you don't cook and use fresh ingredients, you are putting palm kernal oil, extra preservatives and extra sugar and salts in your food. Cooking and eating at home means you have complete control over the healthiness of what you're eating.

Exercise is 20% of your diet. If you don't burn off excess calories, you're going to carry excess weight.

But remember, 80% of how fat you are is what you're putting in your mouth.

NO ONE should be skinny unless everyone in their family is built that way. Some are thinner than average. But that has always been a minority of people. Just like some are heavier than average. ALSO A MINORITY OF PEOPLE. The same number as the thinner than average.

Our human bodies are built to handle average weights in average builds which is what most of us have been given.

Body positivity is a ridiculous ruse to accept what has happened to cultures who overeat highly processed and chemicalized foods. People who overeat and do nothing physical become obese. That is the bottom line.

Most men want attractive looking women who look like they can easily carry a baby to term. That is, not too skinny and not too fat. That's the biological imperative. Work that out with your body and take care!

@TenderFantasy Sad to say, if and when your metabolism slows due to age and medical conditions, then you need to adjust your food intake due to that change. You can't eat like a 20-year-old when you're 60!

And unless you have a metabolic disease, once again, average, healthy people have average, healthy metabolisms.

Physical activity is that 20% of calorie burning I noted. And THAT 20% of extra calorie burning only occurs IF YOU'RE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE. If you do nothing physical, then you have to cut back your calories by 20 percent.

Most adult males need 2500 to 3000 calories a day to run their bodies. 20% of your calories are 500 to 600 calories per day. You need to exercise to burn off that amount if you overeat that amount.

What's 500 to 600 calories? Two glazed doughnuts. Four beers, four shots, or four mixed drinks. A slice of pie or cake. A Big Mac is 563 calories. A slice of pie or cake. A glass of whole milk is 150 calories. So that extra glass at night with. 6 oreos is 500 calories. Two tablespoons of ranch dressing adds 150 calories to perfectly calorieless salads of spinach, tomatoes or lettuce. And if you ladle on the dressing to 3T, then you're hitting your greens with 225 calories.

It's very easy to add "empty" calories to your diet, and to skip exercise, and it takes 3600 extra calories to add a pound to your scale. That's 600 extra calories per day. A serving of french fries is nearly 400 calories.

If you're making those kinds of choices: never cooking or eating at home, piling up pounds, or never shedding them is easy.

So, go to the gym three times a week to get your heart pumping, lift some weights, avoid most processed foods. Eat WHOLE foods: eggs, chicken, potatoes, rice, carrots, spinach, romaine and other dark green lettuces, mustards, tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers and others, onions, red and green cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli. SOME pork, beef, lamb. Fish and other seafood.

And remember, meats and seafood of all kinds FLAVOR your food.

Big slabs of meat are unnecessary. Eat lots of oats and cereals: oatmeal, wheat germ, barley, cracked wheat. They're filling and keep you regular. As does exercise.

Exercise also gives you an energy boost. Coffee is good in moderation. Blueberries, oranges, pears, peaches, pecans, walnuts, peanuts, red, white and other beans..

It's about variety, and eating LOW ON THE HOG!!! (and the cow and other meat animals)
Change your diet, add regular exercise, cook for yourself, and indulge in fast food and restaurant meals maybe once a month, at most.

Watch your alcohol consumption. If you love sweet desserts, bake them yourself. This means you won't be eating high fructose corn syrup, extra salt, fats and preservatives. Those are all serious culprits in derailing sensible diets.

Count calories too. Read labels and know how many calories those favorite snacks of yours are. If you see high fructose corn syrup as an additive to the foods you're eating, look for alternatives. Such additives also cause you to eat MORE of that product. Which the food manufacturers love!

You're the only one who can control what goes into your body for fuel, and how you burn that fuel to keep fit. Good luck!!!

Skinny because most of them have flat tummies, and they can be carried easily.

Thick because they have bigger boobs and ass and are usually curvy.

In between is perfect 👌. Nice ass, almost flat tummy, nice boobs (ass is more important), and curvy.

A pretty face will beat the above in the case of a long term relationship.

It's easier for a chubby lady to get that perfect body, because most that need done is just to lose some weight (not to the point of being underweight or unhealthy). Doing that will enhance the look, making the ass look bigger, boobs bigger, more curves 🔥and less body fat.
Losing weight will cause the face to look better as the excess fat goes and the jawline will be more prominent.

It's harder for a skinny lady to get the perfect body because it's harder to get curves and nice ass as one will have to gain healthy weight (gaining weight in the ass region is tough. It's like the case of guys who want to build muscle. They'll have to bulk (add body mass) most times, then go on a cut (lose the excess weight and get lean to visually increase the muscles). Boobs isn't a problem as long as it isn't flat.

Losing weight will enhance the facial structure making one look more beautiful.

For sexual attractiveness, most times it's about the curves and size of the ass mainly and then boobs (not as important as the ass).

Being beautiful trumps all, most times.

To do if you're chubby:
1. Lose excess fat on the face (your face will look better) - hit the gym or exercise regularly
2. Lose fat around the tummy (doesn't have to be entirely flat) - hit the gym or exercise regularly
3. Get curves - hit the gym or exercise regularly
4. Dress well to enhance your best features (don't dress like a slut though) - take your clothes to a tailor if you can afford.
5. Practice self care - wash your face regularly, take care of your hair, your nails, etc.
6. Be confident and respectful.

Those will make you approachable. There are more but those 6 will do great magic.

To make anyone really commit to you, there'll be more you'll have to do like character development, being interesting, intentional about your future, etc.

Females can't really think like guys do about this stuff. Even the way you use words is different than how a guy thinks. 99% of men could agree that a woman looks great and 50% of females will claim she's ugly because of XYZ. On the flip side, 99% of guys could agree a woman is fugly and 50% of women will claim she looks good. It is what it is.

Guys are less picky then women.. but that doesn't mean guys will settle for something just because a female says it's. good enough either.

My observation in life is that those who worked to stay fit when they were young teenaged years through 20s stay looking good WAY longer and have an easier time maintaining fit looks later in life. You don't want to be the person who gave up young and then tries to get fit later on.

And not all females develop at the same rate. Some look so/so or borderline fugly until later in life and then they look better than most other women. Then you have a lot who look good young but look like rotten tomatoes a short time later.

So focus on building habits that will serve you long term: best nutrition, fitness routine, build good character. It's all connected.

I feel happier at 47-48kg now even though I have some meat on my body these days. Hopefully men don’t mind the extra 4 kg and won’t want me to look like I have been starved.

Men are more dominant than women in general. Most men prefer smaller, shorter, weaker, and younger girls. And most women prefer bigger, taller, stronger, and older men. It's the dynamic of a relationship. Women want to be protected and if they are in tune with their feminine energy... serve a man. Men are the opposite when they're more in tune with masculine energy. We want a girl we can easily carry and toss around in the bedroom. And the truth is, that's not gonna happen with any overweight women.
And then there's fitness. Any man that's fit/athletic and lives an active lifestyle would prefer a partner that is able to be as active as he is. My body fat ratio is actually in the optimal range. I fall within the golden ratio for proportions as well. My husband is also career military and works out at least every other day for 1.5 - 2 hours. He's likely in much better shape than you.

Now, do I have breasts and a butt? Yes, and most men prefer a woman to have those things. Are you one of the few men who don't enjoy either? That being said, I actually enjoy flat chested women as well. But, I'm a woman. You're just way off base with us an many others. My husband and I look nothing alike either. @HawkPerception There's things you said that I agree with. A lot of men (good ones that is) have the protection instinct, to protect their partner/spouse, etc. just like women have the mother instinct to protect her young.

Women who prefer older men, they don't have a good fatherly figure. They think that the older men can teach them a lot about life since they don't have much life experience. But then it will be an UNEQUAL relationship! I would NEVER want that! If they do, they are stupid!

And what you say "Eww" to is what most people consider to be the main aspect in chemistry... similarities. Imagine a partner that has different views from you... religion, if they want children, how they want to raise children, politics, morality, etc. Now imagine a partner that has different interests than you. I think men associate skinniness with youth and it is young women who are thought of as attractive. Or maybe it is a dominance thing where smaller women are easier to hold up when they go weak kneed. Or possibly it is a survival thing - apart from general health, if we are say outrunning a lion the overweight people will be the most susceptible and if anyone is attached to the overweight person they will have to put themselves on the line to help when no one else will, instead of saving themselves alongside their speedier mates, like everyone else will. Or maybe it's just thinking the standard of beauty is whatever they were exposed to when they were young. My mother was a stripper and had a strippers body, so that would explain my preference for it, possibly. Though I have long assumed I fall in the 2nd category. I've tried sex with overweight women and found we had to pretend I was controlling things, and I just don't have that ability to operate under a pretense so I quickly discovered I need to actually be able to wrap my hands around a girl's waist. Firstly skinny girls look very innocent which equates to sexual arousal and appeal. Two, skinny girls look very feminine and men LOVE feeling bigger around such girls, because it gives them feeling of them being protector of such girls. Three, sex life is so much better with skinny girls, you can do so much with them. And last point, if you are skinny and you get pregnant and get kids, you will gain weight ( it is unavoidable) and yet you still will look normal and sexy. I think at some level the guys who want to date rakes just seem like paedophiles to me. Because fundamentally what separates women from little girls are the curves, and if they don't have that, they just look like particularly weathered children.

You really need to stop worrying about what you weigh. We come in all shapes and sizes. What’s important is you wear clothes to suit your shape and this will give you added confidence.
And remember, we all have our preferences. Some of us like people bigger than us, or smaller, taller or shorter.
I guarantee you, those boys not looking at you now WILL in the future and you won’t be interested. And those tiny girls probably won’t be so tiny in the years to come….

There is a limit to how skinny is still attractive though. But a thin physique in a healthy BMI range is a sign a person is physically active and internally healthy. That is naturally attractive for biological reasons. Evolution favours attraction towards this type of physique because it historically results in survival for various reasons.

Obesity can be and often is a sign of underlying issues both to do with personality and health. It also poses other impracticality complications when it comes to survival.

That’s relatively small all around. Track your daily macros & decrease your cals by 500 & start a basic weight training program (Stronglifts 5x5 should probably be the one). Get a scale & take a picture of your progress every week. But lift weights & don’t run or else you’ll get smaller but have zero strength relative.
