Why has he become distant all of a sudden?

Okay so this pertains to the shy strange guy from before. When we talked a few times he was receptive but now it seems he's kind of avoiding me of some sort? I know he's not into me because I've talked to a source and has no idea that I had a crush on him.

I know he has his moods that have nothing to do with me as well. One day he says hi and the rest of the week he's in his own mind. I don't think I have said anything wrong. But I'm lost because I've tried to say hi or just crack a joke but I never seem to have the chance to. Is there any reasoning behind these actions or is he just having bad days constantly?

He's either just like that or he tries to avoid you because he isn't interested and doesn't want to lead you on.

Eh, lol I figured the latter already. Or maybe he doesn't wanna be friends either. He's still polite to me though

Yeah, he could just be afraid that you'll be persistent or something and he's too much of a nice guy to turn a girl down so he's anxious about it.
